Permission to slow down: GRANTED.
For Be Late for Something Day, we’re challenging the idea that every moment has to be rushed, productive, or perfectly scheduled.

Sometimes slowing down can look like:
Enjoying your coffee instead of taking it to-go
Taking a few extra minutes between tasks
Pausing before jumping into the next thing
Taking a deep breath instead of rushing
Moving at your own pace for a moment

Our nervous systems need moments when we're not racing against the clock. Rest, pauses, and breathing room aren't wasted time, they're part of taking care of yourself.

So, today, channel a little sloth energy. 🦥✨
Slow down. You’re doing great.

Ready to Take Your DBT Skills to the Next Level?

DBT Next Steps is a 24-week follow-up group designed for those who already have a strong foundation in DBT and want to build confidence using their skills in everyday life.

Together, we’ll focus on applying DBT to relationships, emotions, routines, goals, and ongoing recovery—moving from knowing the skills to living the skills.

📅 Begins: Tuesday, September 15
⏰ Time: 5:30–7:00 PM
📍 Format: Hybrid — In-Person & Online
📚 Length: 24 weeks

Who is this for?
This group is intended for participants who are not currently in need of crisis-focused treatment and have completed a full DBT skills group at least 3 months ago or have extensive DBT experience.

📖 Participants will need a physical or digital copy of the DBT Next Steps workbook.

✨ Strengthen your skills.
✨ Apply them to real life.
✨ Keep moving forward.

💜 July is Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month.
Established in 2008, this observance was created to shine a light on the unique mental health challenges faced by Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) and to push for real, meaningful change in how care is accessed and delivered.
In the U.S., BIPOC communities face compounded barriers to mental healthcare every day:
🔹 Higher rates of uninsurance

🔹 Cultural and community stigma around seeking help

🔹 Deep-rooted, justified mistrust of the medical system

🔹 A shortage of culturally competent providers

These barriers are not individual failures, they are systemic. And they deserve to be named. At The Meaningful Life Center, we believe that everyone deserves mental health care that is affirming, accessible, and culturally informed. If you or someone you love has been hesitant to reach out for support, we want you to know: this is a safe space. You don't have to navigate this alone.
This month, we encourage you to:

✨ Check in on the people you love

✨ Share mental health resources within your community

✨ Remind someone that asking for help is an act of courage, not weakness.

📩 Reach out to us directly or visit the link in bio to learn more about how we can support you.
💬 Drop a 💜 in the comments if this resonates, or tag someone who needs to hear this today.

🎆❤️ Happy 4th of July! 💙🎆
Today, we celebrate Independence Day, a time to gather with loved ones, enjoy traditions, and reflect on the values of freedom, community, and connection. While celebrations can bring joy, they can also feel overwhelming for some.
Crowds, loud noises, family dynamics, or memories tied to this holiday may bring up unexpected emotions.
As you celebrate today, remember to:
✨Check in with yourself.
✨ Take breaks when needed.
✨ Honor your boundaries.
✨ Make time for rest and connection.

Mental health is important every day of the year, including holidays.
Wishing you a safe, meaningful, and enjoyable 4th of July. 🇺🇸❤️

PTSD Awareness Month

Trauma can change how you see yourself, others, and the world around you. But trauma does not get the final say in your story. During PTSD Awareness Month, we want to remind anyone carrying the weight of trauma that healing isn't about "getting over it." It's about learning to feel safe again, reconnecting with yourself, and discovering that life can hold more than survival. If you've ever wondered whether your reactions make sense, whether healing is possible, or whether you're alone in what you're experiencing—the answer is this:
✨ Your reactions make sense.
✨ You are not weak.
✨ You are not broken.
✨ You are not alone.
Whether you're early in your healing journey or have been doing the work for years, we honor the strength it takes to keep moving forward.💜

To the Dads, Bonus Dads, Grandfathers, Uncles, Mentors, Coaches, and Father Figures, Today We Celebrate You!

Fatherhood isn't defined by biology, it's defined by showing up.It's the bedtime stories, the life lessons, the rides to practice, the quiet sacrifices, the encouraging texts, the hugs, the laughter, and the unwavering support that helps others grow.
Today, we celebrate the father figures who provide guidance, strength, love, safety, and connection within their families and communities. Your presence matters, and the impact you make often reaches farther than you realize.
💙 Thank you for the ways you lead.
💙 Thank you for the ways you care.
💙 Thank you for the ways you show up.

Happy Father's Day to all who fill a fatherly role in someone's life. You are appreciated today and every day.

Happy Juneteenth!

Today, we celebrate Juneteenth, the day that marks the end of slavery in the United States and honors the freedom, resilience, achievements, and contributions of Black Americans throughout history and today.
As mental health professionals, we recognize the importance of creating spaces where everyone feels seen, heard, valued, and supported. We also recognize the importance of culturally responsive mental health care and the role community, connection, and healing play in overall well-being.

This Juneteenth, we encourage you to learn more about and support organizations dedicated to promoting mental health and wellness within Black communities:
✨ Therapy for Black Girls: https://therapyforblackgirls.com/
✨ Black Men Heal : https://blackmenheal.org/
✨ The Loveland Foundation : https://thelovelandfoundation.org/
✨ Black Emotional & Mental Health Collective (BEAM): https://beam.community/

Today, we honor the past, celebrate Black joy and culture, and continue working toward a future where all individuals have access to affirming, equitable, and compassionate mental health support.

Pride is more than a celebration, it's a reminder that you deserve to exist, love, heal, and thrive exactly as you are.

This Pride Month, we celebrate the strength, resilience, joy, and authenticity of the LGBTQIA+ community. Whether you're out and proud, questioning, exploring your identity, or simply trying to make it through a difficult day, you belong here.
Mental health is about more than reducing symptoms, it's about finding spaces where you can be your full self without fear, shame, or having to explain who you are.
🏳️‍🌈 You are worthy of respect.
🏳️‍⚧️ You are worthy of support.
🌈 You are worthy of joy.
💜 You are worthy of taking up space.

This month and every month, we are committed to providing affirming, compassionate, and inclusive care for all identities.
✨ Drop a rainbow emoji in the comments if you're celebrating Pride this month!
✨ Tag someone who helps you feel seen and supported.
✨ Tell us: What does Pride mean to you?
