Move over Miami Vice! Who am I kidding, we are hug dogs not drug dogs! Me and my buddy TK9 Tucker of DCSO made the rounds at the national Sheriff Association conference this morning. Today was the start of the National Sheriffs Association conference being held in Omaha! Made two new friends today! Therapy K9 Tucker, heā€™s the the black lab & Explosive detection K9 Bodie. Both are with the Douglas County Sheriffs Office! New friends + lots of pets = A GREAT DAY!šŸ¾

When we visit classrooms, sometimes students grab their iPads and start snapping away! I donā€™t think they realize thereā€™s not a camera that I didnā€™t meet that I didnā€™t like! This student took such a great picture that he sent it to his teacher so she could give it to dad and this is the result. The last week of school is next week for many in our area. Today we got to team up with Pawficer Mo & his handler Ofcr Meyers from and K9 Mochi & his handler FF Fry from as we visited Belleaire Elementary in Bellevue today. It was a hard day for some students and staff as they had lost a beloved staff member recently. It was so good to know that we could bring some smiles in the midst of some heartache. And just in case youā€™re wondering, yes! We did get a little playtime once we got outside of the school! But then we all had to go back to work! šŸ¾

Unfortunately, my services were really needed this week. Dealing with loss of life no matter what the age, is not easy, but it hits a little different when someone is younger. Dad and I were glad to be able to help people who were really hurting. When dad brought me home, I crashed pretty hard. He said it was a well earned nap. I couldnā€™t agree more. If you get a chance today, tell the one that you love that you love them and give them an extra squeeze. Life is precious and itā€™s short. šŸ¾

Just a little glimpse into life! Did some training and still after all these years, I still do a somersault flip thing when going after the ball! The stickers on my vest are an occupational hazard of visiting elementary schools! As Mrs. Bowlby was taking us between classes, I snuck into her office and grabbed this little tiger! Dad couldnā€™t believe I walked into her office and just helped myself! We had an incredible time at the Eastern Nebraska veterans home this afternoon with our dear friends from Bellevue (Nebraska) Police Department BPD Pawfficer Mo & his mom Ofc Meyers and K9 Tater & his dad Ofc Hobbs! It was wonderful hearing their stories as they scratched our ears and petted our heads!

Sometimes it takes so little to brighten someoneā€™s day and we were very glad to bring many smiles today to those who are often forgotten, our veterans. A huge thank you to Officer Meyers for setting this up! We look forward to our next visit! šŸ¾ Sarpy County Sheriff's Officeļæ¼
