Shoe Drive is coming up quick!!! We start next week. Drop off locations will include KCCH, Penn Yan Public Library, Modeste Bedient Memorial Library in Branchport, St Paul's Lutheran Church, and Family Dollar of Penn Yan.

UR Home Hospice teams with veteran volunteers to provide a thank you service to veterans known as "We Honor Vets". This beautiful and meaningful ceremony thanks those who have been active in the military by presenting them with a blessing, a pin, American Flag Blanket, and reading the creed of their branch of the military.
Current resident Carmen was recognized this week for 8 years of service in the National Guard Reserves. Shared with the permission of his family are some pictures of his ceremony, sitting in the sunshine overlooking Keuka Lake, saluting a fellow veteran. We thank those who provide this service, and to all military members past, present, and future.

2 years ago we held a Shoe Drive with astounding success. We were hesitant to repeat this, as so many generous community members cleaned out their closets to help us. We didn't think that another shoe drive would be as successful. Well, the community has spoken and you are ready to unclutter again!!!
Starting July 1st and running through August, we will again be collecting new and gently used shoe donations. Shoes are picked up by our partner company, weighed, and we then receive a payout based on how many pounds of shoes we collect. Your shoes are then sent overseas to developing countries, benefiting their new owners in many ways and helping to keep shoes out of landfills! A win-win for everyone involved!
All types and sizes of shoes (in good, clean, wearable condition) are accepted. This includes men's, women's, children, and baby sneakers, boots, slippers, heels, cleats, and more! We cannot accept skates of any kind.
You are welcome to bring your donations to us at KCCH starting on July 1st. Other drop off locations will be announced when the event is closer so we do not overwhelm our generous partners before it is time.
Last time we collected 3360 pairs of shoes. Can we beat that number this year??

Our Coordinator of Resident Care Ashley Jones, along with longtime volunteers JoAnn Colvin and Ingrid Michael said goodbye to Keuka Lake this morning as they make their way to Santa Fe, NM for the Omega Home Network Conference!

Two years ago we hosted a shoe drive fundraiser with great success, and we will be asking for your help once again.
Coming this summer, we will be holding another used shoe drive!

It is Volunteer Appreciation Week!!
Here at KCCH, we appreciate our volunteers every day, but would like to take the time to pause and reflect on how grateful we are for our many volunteers. We have volunteers for every job imaginable, including lawn mowing, fundraising, hands on care, and even organization!
We simply could not function without our family of volunteers.
If you see any of the KCCH volunteers, current or former, be sure to thank them for their kindness and dedication!
