🧠 Could hormone therapy help support brain health?

New research suggests that hormone therapy after menopause may be linked to a lower risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

In the study, women who had used hormone therapy were about 10% less likely to develop dementia and 16% less likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease compared with women who had never used it. The greatest benefits appeared among certain groups, including women who experienced surgical menopause.

Researchers also found that timing may matter, with the greatest reduction in risk seen among women who started hormone therapy between ages 46 and 56.

While these findings are encouraging, more research is needed—and hormone therapy isn't right for everyone. Always talk with your healthcare provider about the benefits and risks based on your individual health history.
