WhenLoveWorks Dynamically (WLWD) is an MWBE-certified leadership & professional-development firm that strengthens school culture through relationship-first social-emotional learning, coaching, and customizable PD for staff, students, and families.
Love Leader 101 is WLWD’s signature PD series that trains educators, leaders, students, and families in healthy communication, conflict resolution, and relational leadership through practical, role-play driven sessions and followup coaching.

WhenLoveWorks Dynamically (WLWD) partners with schools and community organizations to build healthier organizations through relationship-centered professional development. Our evidence-informed approach focuses on relational health — the skills and practices that deepen trust, reduce conflict, and improve engagement across staff, students, and families. She says she’s single. Her calendar tells us she’s investing in a connection. So, when does dating become a relationship?

Daily FaceTimes. Planned dates. Roses at the door. A year and a half of getting to know each other.

And yet, she’s still identifying as single.

Now, we don’t know what these two people have discussed privately. But their story raises an important question:

Are you building a relationship together, or are you each making your own assumptions about what this connection means?

Because consistent communication and thoughtful gestures can demonstrate interest and care. But they don’t automatically establish commitment, exclusivity, or a shared vision for the future.

And sometimes, keeping things undefined can feel safer than asking the questions that might change everything. “Love is the prerogative of the brave”

But here’s what we want you to consider as a Love Leader®:

In Love Literacy we teach:
Dating is NOT a relationship.

Dating transitions into courtship (a temporary relationship) ONLY when two people communicate their expectations, understand what each person wants, and make intentional agreements about what they’re building and declare they are mutually courting.

That means discussing what this connection is, where it’s going, and what commitment means to each of you.

And the conversation doesn’t end there.

The journey from dating to courting to lifetime partnership calls for different conversations, decisions, and skills along the way. You need to know how to communicate your needs, assess compatibility, navigate conflict, and build a relationship that both people are choosing.

That’s why we coauthored Love Literacy®: A Conscious Journey to Healthy Relationships.

We want to help people remove the ambiguity, gain clarity about where they are in their relationship journey, and learn the skills to move forward intentionally, whether that means deepening the connection or recognizing that they want different things.

📦🖤 Unboxing day for Love Literacy Live!

This is what lands at the door: the Love Literacy® book, a notebook for the real work, and your Individual Relationship Plan, all wrapped in tissue like the gift it is.

She found us before she found him. 🖤

Marchè started showing up to WhenLoveWorks Dynamically® events as someone who wanted to learn. Not because she was in a relationship. Not because her heart was broken. Because she understood something that most people only learn the hard way: You do not wait until you are in love to become Love Literate. You become Love Literate so that when love arrives, you are ready for it.

And she was.

She took the Love Stages quiz. She read the book. She updated her dating practices. She got intentional about her love language too.

And then Vincent showed up.
