Allegheny County has just started their yearly raccoon rabies bait program. Bait is dropped throughout our city and county parks via helicopter or plane in the hopes that raccoons will eat the bait, which will provide some protection against possible rabies infections.

If your pet eats this bait, it is NON-TOXIC! However, your pet may experience some GI issues. Click below to read the article.

The Allegheny County Health Department (ACHD) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Wildlife Services will begin the county’s annual Raccoon Rabies Vaccination Program on Friday, August 15, 2025.

Turn left onto Route 837 (8th Avenue)
Continue straight on Route 837 (River Road)
Turn left onto the Rankin Bridge
Continue onto South Braddock Avenue
Bear right to merge onto eastbound I-376 toward Monroeville

German Shepherd found on Monitor and Forward in Sq. Hill. Has microchip, but it's not registered. Pink flat collar and Seresto collar, no tags. VERY friendly. Finder took to Humane Animal Rescue. Please reply if this is your dog; we can put you into contact with the finder if she may still have her!
