Every conversation, song, and quiet moment you share with your child is physically shaping the connections inside their brain.

This is neuroplasticity, and in children, it is at its most powerful.

A baby's brain doubles in size in the first year of life. By age five, it has already reached 90% of its adult size. The connections formed during those early years become the foundation for attention, language, and emotional regulation for the rest of their life.

The brain keeps a simple rule: what gets used gets stronger. What does not gets pruned away.

Your child does not need extraordinary moments to build a healthy brain. They need consistent, responsive ones.

We just published a full breakdown of the science:

Music plays a particularly powerful role in this process. It engages more areas of the brain at once than almost any other activity, including the regions that govern listening, attention, movement, and emotion.

EDIT: So when I shared the below post it was because I had received a few private messages about some of my families with grown children achieving incredible milestones. I felt the excitement and wanted to share how meaningful it is to receive these types of messages and hear of their successes over the years.
But, now the cat is out of the bag and I did announce this week by email to my current clients that I am semi-retiring so figured I would now add that to this post.
It is a very exciting time in my professional journey and I"m ready to share my knowledge in other ways. I LOVE MY FAMILIES AND KIDDOS and will stay connected in one way or the other.
Details are in the works. But for now, I thank you for trusting me to be a part of your journey. This is not the end of my story; its only the beginning of a new chapter!

After 42 years as a pediatric occupational therapist—25 of those here in Jacksonville (hard to believe!)—I’ve had the true honor of working with so many incredible families and fellow professionals.
What means the most to me, every single time, is receiving a message from former clients or their parents… sharing updates about their now teen or adult children. Hearing about high school graduations with a real diploma, college accomplishments, and meaningful careers ahead—it never gets old.
To be remembered as a small part of their journey, and to hear their gratitude, is truly the greatest reward and one that brings tears of joy to my eyes. 💛

Day 2 of being operational in our new clinic space. It has been an intense, wild and amazing journey, purging the old and setting up the new!
After a handful of sessions and getting a feel for the flow, we’ve already made a few thoughtful tweaks—shifting things around, fine-tuning the layout, and adding some greenery to bring extra life into the room. It’s been energizing to see the space come together, and I’d say we’re off to a great start. 🌿
