Alliance Medical Ministry

Alliance Medical Ministry A nonprofit clinic that provides comprehensive primary care to working, uninsured community members.

AMM is a nonprofit medical clinic for working uninsured adults in Wake County between ages 18 and 64. The private practice model offers access to quality care at an affordable price. Without an alternative like Alliance, the uninsured must often rely on expensive emergency rooms for care that is not critical and does not ultimately meet their long-term needs.

Join us in celebrating pollinator week! Without the work of various pollinators, the AMM garden would not be able to thrive.

"Pollinator Week is an annual celebration in support of pollinator health that was initiated and is managed by Pollinator Partnership. It is a time to raise awareness for pollinators and spread the word about what we can do to protect them." - https://buff.ly/RNpsiZJ The Pollinator Partnership

A few years ago, Jessica walked into the emergency room, desperate for relief from back pain. When asked if she had a primary care physician, she shared, “I can’t afford one.” For years, Jessica could only pay for routine Pap smears, but nothing else. That all changed when Jessica was referred to Alliance Medical Ministry (AMM). Her providers quickly discovered her health issues and began working with her to take control. Her primary care provider took a holistic approach to her care and referred her to AMM’s Head of Farming and Wellness, where she joined the Spring Wellness Challenge, a no-cost wellness program. Jessica didn’t just participate—she thrived, and has since committed to exercising twice a week. Through determination and the support of AMM, Jessica has taken charge of her health, proving that with the right care, anything is possible.

It is through your gifts to AMM that wellness programs, like the one that helped Jessica, are held at no cost for AMM's patients. Click on the following link to donate today. https://buff.ly/ri1d4pG

As the days become longer and the temperatures rise, sleep patterns can often change and become harder to maintain. June's early sunrises, late sunsets, and growing humidity can make it difficult to sleep well. However, restful nights are still possible with a few simple modifications.

Last June, you all met Taya, one of AMM's Kenan Urban Scholars. During her time at AMM, she focused on improving AMM’s referral process to nephrologists while shadowing Dr. Burkett.

Since then, Taya has finished preclinical classes at the UNC School of Medicine, taken the first board exam in medical training, and has started year three of medical school. Taya has also had the amazing opportunity to present her research from her time at AMM at the 2026 National Kidney Foundation Spring Clinicals in New Orleans, Louisiana, as well as have her abstract published in the May Issue of the American Journal of Kidney Diseases.
