Therapy can provide practical strategies to help you improve focus, manage daily responsibilities, and build on your strengths. With the right support, ADHD can become something you manage—not something that manages you.

Everyday sounds can feel overwhelming for people with misophonia, even when others around them barely notice them. These reactions are often rooted in heightened nervous system sensitivity rather than choice or preference. Understanding that experience is a meaningful step toward compassion—for others and for ourselves. When we move away from judgment and toward curiosity, we create space for validation, better communication, and more supportive environments for those navigating sound sensitivity. If you are looking for support - reach out to us at LiveWell Psychology. Dr. Jessica Tomasula uses evidence-based treatment approaches to misophonia that are in line with Duke Center for Misophonia and Emotion Regulation | Duke Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences and is listed in the misophonia providers directory.

If certain sounds feel unbearable to you, you’re not alone—and you’re not overreacting. For individuals with misophonia, specific auditory triggers can activate a strong emotional and physiological response that may feel immediate and overwhelming. This is not a matter of willpower or “just ignoring it.” Misophonia is real, and it can significantly impact daily life, relationships, and emotional well-being. If you are looking for support - Dr. Jessica Tomasula uses evidence-based treatment approaches to misophonia that are in line with Duke Center for Misophonia and Emotion Regulation | Duke Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences and is listed in the misophonia providers directory.

Dr. Jessica Tomasula offers walk and talk therapy at LiveWell Psychology as one of her ways of supporting patients in a setting that feels more comfortable and accessible.

Being outdoors can add something important to the therapeutic process. Natural surroundings often bring a sense of calm and openness that can make it easier to stay present with challenging topics. For some people, this setting reduces the sense of intensity that can come with traditional therapy rooms.

If you’re curious about whether it might be right for you, we welcome you to reach out and learn more.

At LiveWell Psychology, Dr. Jessica Tomasula offers walk and talk sessions as an option for patients who feel they may benefit from a more flexible, grounded approach to therapy.

Movement can change the way we process emotions. When the body is gently active, the mind often becomes less stuck in loops and more able to explore new perspectives. Walk and talk therapy uses this natural connection between body and mind to support reflection and emotional regulation.

Some conversations feel easier when you’re not sitting face-to-face in a room. Walk and talk therapy creates space to think more freely, speak more openly, and move at a pace that often feels less pressured. Many people find that walking side by side helps difficult thoughts feel more manageable and less intense.

At LiveWell Psychology, Dr. Jessica Tomasula offers walk and talk sessions for patients who prefer therapy in the outdoors. If traditional office settings feel limiting, this can be a different way to engage in meaningful therapeutic work.
