Steven Ray Tidd, 57, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026 after a prolonged illness.

He was born to the late George Paul Tidd and Mary Ann Lehew Tidd of Ravenswood, West Virginia.

Steve was a 1987 graduate of Ravenswood High School. He was always involved with the Running Red Devils of RHS with Coach Price. He worked for many years at Pleasers, Dairy Queen, Certified, B+B Marathon, and McDonalds.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents; Homer E. Tidd Sr, Blanche E. Byers Tidd, Dale E. Lehew, and Anna L. Sell Lehew. Brothers; George Douglas Tidd and Terry Allen Tidd.

Steven is survived by his sister, Jo Beth Tidd Fitzwater, along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was a vital part of our family and will be greatly missed.

No formal services will be held at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date for family and friends. The family appreciates your love, support, and understanding during this difficult time and will share details once arrangements have been made.

Emmagene Stephens Buffington, 95, passed away on June 21, 2026 at Genesis Nursing Home in Ravenswood. She was born on September 6, 1930. She fought a long-term battle with various afflictions.

She is survived by 1 brother, Warner Stephens; 1 sister, Shirley Easter of Ripley; 2 sons, Randy (Cathy) of Elizabeth, WV, and Steve of Ravenswood; and 1 daughter, Lori Shields of Ravenswood. She has 5 grandsons, Jeremy Buffington, Jason Smith, Scott Nay, and Russell Nay, all of Ravenswood, and Thomas Nay of Southport, OH; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, James Hubert Stephens and Jeanette Stephens, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence William Buffington; 2 sisters; and 1 brother.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026 at Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood at 2:00 pm with visitation from 12:00 to 2:00 pm, with Pastor Chris Skeens officiating. Burial will follow in Ravenswood Cemetery.

Samuel (Sammy) Mitchell Mancari
March 5, 1934 – June 17, 2026

Samuel (Sammy) Mitchell Mancari, Born on March 5, 1934 (92 yr.) passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, veteran, volunteer, and friend, Sam lived a life defined by service, dedication, and unwavering love for those around him.

In 1953 Sam answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Marine Corps. During a distinguished military career spanning more than 20 years of active duty, he served honorably in the Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart for his courage and sacrifice. Following his active service, he continued his commitment to the Corps through more than a decade of service in the Inactive Marine Reserves.

While Sam's military service was a source of immense pride, his commitment to serving others continued long after his years in uniform. He dedicated countless hours to the Marine Corps League, where he remained an active and highly respected member, continuing to embody the values of honor, courage, and commitment that defined his military career. He was equally devoted to the O.E.S, earning the distinguished titles of Worthy Patron and Grand Marshal, honors that reflected the deep respect and admiration he garnered throughout his life. Sam was also a proud Master Mason and a member of the Grand Lodge of West Virginia, A.F. & A.M., Clifton Lodge No. 23 in Mason, West Virginia. Through these organizations, he forged lasting friendships, provided steadfast leadership, and continued his lifelong dedication to service, fellowship, and community.

A firm believer in giving back to his community, Sam volunteered at the local hospital for more than 25 years, touching the lives of countless patients, families, and healthcare workers with his kindness and generosity. For the betterment of his sons, he also dedicated his time to mentoring the youth through many organizations such as The Boy Scouts of America. These organizations helped shape future generations through his example of integrity, service, and leadership.

Above all else, Sam's greatest devotion was to his family. No matter the distance, he never missed an opportunity to celebrate the milestones and accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. Whether traveling from his home in West Virginia to Florida, North Carolina, or even Alaska, Sam could always be counted on to be there for life's special moments. His presence in the stands, at graduations, ceremonies, birthdays, holidays, and family gatherings was a testament to the immense love he carried for his family.

Sam leaves behind a legacy of courage, service, generosity, and unconditional love. He will be remembered not only for his many accomplishments, but for the quiet strength, humility, and steadfast support he offered to everyone fortunate enough to know him.

His life was one of purpose, and his memory will continue to inspire all who knew and loved him.

Sammy Mancari was preceded in death by his brothers, Tony, Frank, Henry, Tom, William (Bill), Jim, Freddy and his sisters Anna and Mary and his daughter Patricia. He leaves behind his brother Joe (Thelma), his loving wife, Sue, his children Cari (Jeff) Shepard, Robert (Laurel) Mancari, and James (Heather) Mancari, his grandchildren Nick Shepard, Cassie Mancari (Rob Athari), Kaylin Mancari, Eric Mancari, Mitchell Shepard, and Zack Shepard (Haley) and his great-granddaughter, Makinleigh Shepard.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 1:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Ravenswood, West Virginia, with Pastor Rod Blanchard officiating. Friends may visit from 11:00 am til 1:00 pm, the time of the service. Burial will follow at Ravenswood Cemetery with full military rites provided by CPL. Walter L. Mann Detachment 1065 Marine Corps League.

Friends may visit on Friday, June 19, 2026 at Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood, West Virginia from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Billy Gene Combs, 84, of Apple Grove community of Racine, Ohio, passed away on June 7th, 2026, at Cabell Huntington Hospital.

He was born on June 17th, 1941, in Fleming, Kentucky, the son of the late Eva Lee Combs and Winfred Combs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Jackie Lee Combs and Lawrence Edward “Bud” Combs, sisters; Lillian Francis Combs Collier, Olena Carol Combs, Gladys Faye Combs.

Billy is survived by his wife, Alma Fields Combs, twin brother, Harold Dean Combs, stepchildren; Meegan Richard (Larry), Larry Keith Whitehouse (Angela), JD Davisson, step grandchildren; Will, Sylvie, Wyatt, Amelia, Alyssa, and RJ. Several nieces and nephews also survived.

Billy worked for General Motors and retired with 30 years of service. He started in the assembly line and retired as a supervisor. He enjoyed fishing and riding four wheelers. During his younger days in Cleveland, Ohio, he enjoyed racing Funny Cars. He was also a Mason.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm, officiated by his niece, Juanita Collier Spangler, on Wednesday, June 10th, 2026, at Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood, WV. Burial will follow at Letart Falls Cemetery.

It is with great sadness and much love that the family of Tamera Jill Moore of Sandyville, West Virginia, announces her passing on June 3, 2026, at the age of 65 after a lengthy battle with heart disease.

Tamera will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Betty Sydenstricker; her daughters, Heather Santee (Michael), Chanda Salser, and Danielle Jones (Jeremy); her grandchildren, Theodore Bowers, Brockton Bowers (Lexi), Jilliana Bigley (Zac), Jackson Jones, Makena Jones, and Eliza Jones; her great-grandchild, Kingston Bigley; her brothers, Curtis Sydenstricker and Eugene Sydenstricker; her sister, Sonya D. McClain; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Tamera was preceded in death by her father, Kenny Sydenstricker, and her sisters, Lilla Landsberg and Pam Brown.

Tamera was born on May 19, 1961, in Norwalk, California, to Kenny and Betty Sydenstricker. She was a graduate of Charleston School of Beauty Culture and earned her cosmetology degree. She worked for several years as a makeup artist and stylist at Photo1 in the Charleston Town Center. Tamera had an incredible work ethic and pursued several trades throughout her life, truly becoming a "Jill of all trades." Tamera retired a few years ago due to health issues.

In the final years of her life, she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She developed a dedicated relationship with the Lord and lifted her family and loved ones up in prayer daily.

Tamera was a strong, stubborn woman who was also kind and loving. She endured many battles throughout her life but remained steadfast in her faith. Now, her long suffering has come to an end, and she rests in the arms of the Lord.

At Tamera's request, her family will honor her wishes and forego a traditional service at this time. A Celebration of Life and tree-planting ceremony will be held on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Michael Santee.

Debra Louise LoPrinzi, 51, of Cottageville, West Virginia, passed away on May 18, 2026, following a long and courageous battle with cancer and leukemia. She was born on April 24, 1975. She was known to many as Debbie Thompson LoPrinzi.
She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her life was filled with family, love, and the many people who were blessed to know her. She worked at Jackson County Developmental Center (JCDC), where she helped care for and support adults with special needs. She will be remembered for the love she shared with those closest to her and for the special place she held in the hearts of her family.
She was preceded in death by her adoptive father, David Rhodes; adoptive mother Valarie Rhodes; her sister, Betty Meeks; and her brother, Earl Johnson.
She is survived by her husband Neil LoPrinzi; her children Nevan and Natalie LoPrinzi; her sisters Mary Johnson, Janet Coco, Rebecca (Scott) Evans, Shelly Nichols; brothers Carl Johnson, Chris Jarrett, Sammy (Suzanne) Johnson, Billy (Reva) Thompson, Patrick (Jessica) Thompson, Seth (Elizabeth) Rhodes; 23 nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends that love her dearly.
A service to honor her life will be held at Praise Cathedral Church, on Tuesday May 26, 2026 with visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and the funeral service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Ravenswood Cemetery. Services will be handled by Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood, West Virginia.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Joann Elizabeth Rice, 85, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away on May 17, 2026, at Ravenswood Village Center in Ravenswood.

She was born on April 25, 1941, in Wellsburg, WV, daughter of the late Anna Crinkey Boso.

Joann was a homemaker and after 15 years of residing at the nursing home, she was affectionately known as the “Mayor of Ravenswood Village”. She loved Elvis and Pittsburgh Steelers. Her great grandchildren affectionately called her “baby doll”.

She is survived by her children, Steven Crinkey, Mark Schrader, Carla Schrader Lane, Brandy Smith Hall; step children, Shona Varney, Chris Smith and Shadd Smith; and many grand and great grandchildren.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her son, Allen Schrader; and brother, Frederick Boso.

The family would like to give many thanks to Ravenswood Village.

Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood is in charge of arrangements.

Services will be held on May 30, 2026 at 4 pm at the Cottageville Evans Baptist Church. There will be food following the service at the church.

Barbara Ann Adams, 83, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away on Thursday, May 7th, 2026, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.

She was born on July 31, 1942, at home in Lawrence County, Tennessee, daughter of the late James W. Travis and Gladys Rena Inman Travis.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 62 plus years, Bobby Adams, her sister, Freda Travis of Chico, California, her children; Rick Adams (Vicki), Randy Adams (Barbara) both of Ravenswood, her grandchildren; Summer Alfred (Carlos), Charlie Adams, and Zachary Adams, her greatgrandchildren; CJ and Rosie Alfred, Colton Angus and Garrett Angus. She is also survived by many brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, friends, and special friend, Kathy Stanley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Ann Adams.

Barbara was a homemaker and a member of the Independent United Brethren Church in Ravenswood. She loved to sing and listen to Southern Gospel music and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm, officiated by Pastor Matt Matics, on Tuesday, May 12th, 2026, at Independent United Brethren Church in Ravenswood, WV. Burial will follow at Ravenswood Cemetery.
