A day this special doesn’t happen alone.

Thank you to our amazing partners who helped make this Sunday’s Retreat everything it was:

What a day! 05.31.26 💛

The guests signed up in hustle mode. Working. Mothering. Giving. Going.
All they wanted was a little time for themselves. And what they got was so much more.

We started in the grass, grounding ourselves to the earth. We walked in silence through one of the most beautiful parks in Monmouth County NJ — and yes, people said hello and all we could do was politely smile and keep walking 😂. We heard the songs of nature, saw amazing wildlife, a tree struck by lightning, and even had 2 special visitors! We then moved through a gentle vinyasa-yin practice that left us wrung out in the best way. We shared a meal together. And then we planted a seed — literally — for the season ahead.

By the end they were saying things like “I am so calm” and “I feel peaceful inside” and “why don’t I do this more often?”

That last one — that’s exactly why I do this.

Because the tools are already yours… Breath, Stillness, Movement, Silence. We never left Monmouth County. 🙌 Nature has been out here healing and holding us all along. Sometimes you just need someone to show you the door.

In my early 30s I found myself lying on a table in Brussels, seeing an osteopath for my chronic back pain.
As he worked around my surgery scar tissue, he asked me one question.
“What was happening in your life at the time of your back surgery?”
Everything. It was an emotional time. My parents were separating. I was climbing the corporate ladder.
What I didn’t fully understand then was that my back had been talking to me since childhood. I was diagnosed with scoliosis young — but I never really addressed it. I’d get spasms after cheerleading practice and just hope someone would come rub my back until it passed. My body was already keeping score. I just didn’t speak the language yet.
I started practicing yoga after that. Then marriage. Then COVID. Then divorce. Then St. Lucia in December 2020 — where something in me finally exhaled. Yoga teacher training followed. And now here I am in 2026 with all of it integrated into the work I do every day.
I’m currently re-reading The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk. The premise is simple and life changing — trauma isn’t just a mental experience. It lives in the body. It shapes your pain, your weight, your sleep, your nervous system response. And trauma isn’t a competition. Your body doesn’t differentiate between big T and little T trauma. It responds to all of it the same way. Whatever you’ve been carrying — it counts.
Our bodies are constantly sending us signals. Gut feelings, physical symptoms, chronic pain that won’t heal. That’s not weakness. That’s your body trying to protect you and communicate with you at the same time.
The question is — are you listening?
I wasn’t. For a long time I just pushed harder. But now, I know better. And you can too.
