Breath Therapy MN

Breath Therapy MN I help people in Rochester, MN relieve chronic pain, stress and tension using breath and nervous system based therapy.

This work utilizes a somatic approach to muscle and breath re-education for balance and harmony within. Somatic exercises are designed to re-educate chronic muscle tension through small, mindful contractions and releases. By doing this we can reconnect "lost" or "stuck" muscles that may feel tense and sore. With consistent practice we learn to keep our bodies in a relaxed and balanced state, great

ly improving stamina, mobility and strength. This not only feels great for our bodies, but it has a profound impact on our nervous system. As we work on resorting function through the spine, shoulders, pelvis and hips we find balance and harmony in our system. We then can progress to restoring functional movement through therapeutic yoga and strength through traditional asana. Essentially moving from a state out of balance and back to center and harmony. Pranayama is a large part of my classes as well. Functional breathing is essential for the practice, we cannot reset our nervous systems if our body is in a state of stress. Slow, low and deep breathing keeps our bodies in a parasympathetic state, where we can rest, digest and heal. We learn to relax and keep the mind in a peaceful state!

You don’t always need more.

Sometimes you need less noise.
Less distraction.
Less rushing toward whatever comes next.

Feel. Notice. Be here.
Come back to yourself.

Life is waiting.

Moving and breathing are things we’ve done our entire lives. That doesn’t mean we’ve learned to do them well.

It's so vital to practice.

Slow down. Pay attention. Feel what’s actually happening.

Move well. Breathe well. Age gracefully.

Breathing better doesn’t always begin with the breath.

Sometimes we begin with the body—slowing down, releasing unnecessary tension, and creating a little more space for movement and breathing.

The goal isn’t to force a deeper breath.

It’s to create better conditions for the breath to move naturally.

Less tension. Less effort. More space to breathe.

The older I get, the less interested I am in proving what my body can do.

There is always another exercise, another mobility hack, another challenge, another person on the internet doing something impressive enough to make us think, I should be able to do that.

But your body isn't a problem to overcome.

Learning to listen to it takes practice. Knowing when to work, when to recover, when to push and when to back off takes practice too.

Slowing down doesn't mean giving up.

Sometimes it's how we finally start doing the work that actually helps.

Listen to your body. Slowing down is an art.

The older I get, the more I realize a simple life doesn’t just happen.

It takes practice.

Learning what deserves your attention.
Learning what doesn’t.
Making things with your hands.
Moving your body.
Spending more time outside.
Doing fewer things, a little more deliberately.

Simple doesn’t mean easy.

Maybe it just means being more intentional about what you let fill your life.

If stretching your back isn't working, it might be time to stop stretching it.

Chronic back discomfort isn't always asking for more flexibility. Sometimes the body needs something entirely different: stability, coordination and better awareness.

Start exploring:

• Hip rotation and control
• The deep core — pelvic floor, transverse abdominis, psoas and surrounding stabilizers
• Breathing that coordinates with the trunk rather than fighting against it

The goal isn't to force your body into feeling better.

It's to slow down enough to understand what it's asking for.

Observe. Feel. Engage.

Your breath and movement can tell you a lot when you learn how to listen.

Persistent or severe back pain should be evaluated by an appropriate healthcare professional.

POWER STRETCHING 💪 | Body Breath & Mind Ep. 6

Body • Breath • Mind
A very serious series about learning to live in your body.

Episode 6 — Power Stretch

We spend a lot of time trying to think our way out of what we're feeling.

But stress, tension and overwhelm aren't only experienced in the mind. We experience them through the body and through the way we breathe.

Breath Therapy is an opportunity to slow down and begin noticing those patterns.

Through breathing, body awareness, gentle movement and somatic practices, we work with what you're actually experiencing in the moment — creating space for tension to soften and for the body to move toward greater ease.

You don't need to know exactly what's wrong.

We begin with what you're feeling.

In-person Breath Therapy sessions available.

Yoga is more than stretching.

It’s moving. Breathing. Feeling. Playing. Slowing down. Connecting.

It’s learning to experience your body instead of simply trying to make it perform.

Body. Breath. Mind.
