Welcome Grahame Gould, MD to Rochester Regional Health’s Neurosciences Institute! 🧠

As our new Service Line Division Head - Neurosurgery and with more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Gould brings a deep level of expertise in cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgery, along with complex cranial and spinal care. But just as important, he’s passionate about caring for patients as people, helping guide them through some of life’s most challenging health moments with compassion and understanding.

When he’s not at work, you can find Dr. Gould spending time with his wife, children, and their dog, staying active, traveling, or enjoying great food and live music.

A sweet (and seriously fun) way to wrap up Health System Week at Rochester General Hospital! 🎉

Today was all about bringing out the inner kid in all of us - with a visit from Mittsy from the Rochester Red Wings, a bouncy castle, temporary tattoos, and plenty of smiles along the way. Because our teams deserve to have some fun, too!

And thanks to our amazing community partners at Vision Auto Group, staff also received free cheesecake (!!) and automotive inspections for life!

Moments like these are a small way to say a big thank you to our dedicated team members who show up every day with compassion, skill, and heart. And to our partners who help us celebrate them - you make this week even more special.

From sunrise rounds to late-night lifesaving moments, nurses are at the heart of it all.

This Nurses Week, our teams came together for themed celebrations, appreciation events, and a few well-earned laughs along the way.

To our RGH nurses: thank you for the compassion, expertise, and steady presence you bring every single day.

We’re here for it, and so grateful for you. 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️

Susan Woods spent years caring full time for her mother, Faye. In 2021, a routine dental visit uncovered something unexpected.

Her dentist noticed irritation under her tongue. What seemed minor turned out to be squamous cell carcinoma.

Susan's head and neck cancer team at Rochester General Hospital moved quickly. Surgeons Andrew Coniglio, MD, and John Coniglio, MD, performed surgery within a month to remove the cancer. After recovering, she returned to what she knew best: caring for her mom. ❤️‍🩹

Three years later, when the cancer returned, Susan once again turned to her RGH team. She worked closely with Jolly Caplash, DMD, FACS, an oral surgeon at RGH, who helped reconstruct her tongue and jaw.

Today, Susan is cancer free and grateful for the team that stood by her every step of the way.

“They saved my life,” Susan said. “If they weren’t who they were, I might not be here.” 🙏

This Patient Experience Week, we're celebrating Brian Lawler: a volunteer whose dedication speaks volumes. 🌟

Brian started volunteering in Guest Services in January with one shift a week. He enjoyed connecting with patients and guests so much that within a week, he asked to come in more often. Now, he's here every single day.

Since January, Brian has volunteered over 400 hours and serves as our lead volunteer for daily mail delivery to units across the hospital. His timeliness, friendliness, and genuine care have made him a familiar and appreciated face throughout RGH.

Brian has embraced our values and culture in every way. He's generous, always ready to help, and brings smiles to everyone he meets - patients, families, and team members alike.

Thank you, Brian, for showing up with care and commitment every day. For volunteers who give their time, energy, and heart, we're here for it. 🩵

Please join us in welcoming G. Randall Green, MD, JD, MBA, as the new President of Rochester General Hospital, effective immediately.

Dr. Green brings a strong commitment to clinical quality, patient safety, and collaboration - and will work closely with RGH leaders to support our teams and ensure continuity of care for our patients and community. He will continue his role as Executive Medical Director of the Sands‑Constellation Heart & Vascular Institute while maintaining his clinical practice.

This transition follows Tammy Snyder’s move into a system-wide Senior Vice President of Operations role. We’re grateful for her leadership and excited for what’s ahead at RGH.

We’re proud to welcome Dr. Green into this role and grateful for the steady leadership he brings to our community.
