Pride has always been more than a celebration.

It is healthcare. It is community. It is advocacy. It is resistance.

Today at Bostonโ€™s Pride for the People we marched alongside partners, patients, advocates, and community members because LGBTQIA+ health and wellbeing are worth protecting.

Thank you to everyone who marched, waved, danced, and advocated with us. ๐ŸŒˆ

Policy decisions shape health outcomes.

Our report examines how changes to healthcare protections, nondiscrimination policies, data collection, and public health programs may affect LGBTQIA+ communities and other populations that already experience disparities.

Behind every policy conversation are real people navigating healthcare systems, accessing services, and trying to stay healthy.

Thousands of steps. Hundreds of conversations. Countless moments of community. ๐Ÿ’—

Last weekend, our community came together for the 40th anniversary of Strides for Action โ€” walking, running, volunteering, remembering, celebrating, and showing up for one another.

Thank you to every participant, volunteer, donor, sponsor, community partner, and supporter who helped make this yearโ€™s Strides for Action possible. Together, we walked in celebration, in remembrance, in joy, and in solidarity.

And if you havenโ€™t had the chance to support yet, thereโ€™s still time. Every donation helps power the care, research, advocacy, and services that our communities rely on every day: https://stridesforaction.org/

What happens when access to care becomes harder to reach?

The report highlights proposed policy changes that could significantly restrict access to gender-affirming care โ€” including changes impacting insurance coverage, hospitals, Medicaid, and provider participation.

Research continues to show that access to medically necessary care improves health outcomes. Policy decisions have real-world impacts on patients, families, and communities.

The LGBTQIA+ Aging Project recognizes June 5th as National HIV Long-Term Survivors Awareness Day. This day honors the ongoing resilience of our community members who have been living with HIV for as many as 40 years, while also remembering those we lost to the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

In Massachusetts, 64% of people living with HIV are over the age of 50. That number is expected to rise to 70% by 2030.

๐Ÿ“ฃ Are you an adult living with HIV and using drugs? You may be eligible to participate in a paid research study.

Researchers from Boston Medical Center, Boston University, Fenway Health, and FIU are recruiting participants for a study exploring barriers to HIV care โ€” including stigma โ€” and identifying ways to improve support and access.

Participants may:
โœ… Complete research visits virtually or in person
โœ… Receive behavioral health text messages
โœ… Earn compensation for study visits
โœ… Receive referral bonuses for eligible participants

Today is Give OUT Day โ€” the only national day of giving for LGBTQ+ nonprofits.

For 50+ years, Fenway Health has provided affirming, expert care for LGBTQ+ people, people living with HIV, and anyone who needs a provider who sees them fully.

LGBTQ+ causes receive just 0.16% of all philanthropic giving in the U.S. Today, weโ€™re changing that โ€” one gift at a time.

MassHealth is more than insurance โ€” it is access to HIV treatment, PrEP, primary care, mental health services, sexual health services, gender-affirming care, and the support people need to stay healthy.

Changes to Medicaid in HR 1 could mean approximately 150,000 Massachusetts residents lose MassHealth coverage while federal Medicaid funding is cut by more than $900 billion over the next decade.

For LGBTQIA+ communities, people living with HIV, and those who rely on safety-net providers, losing coverage could mean delayed care, interrupted treatment, and new barriers to essential services.

Fenway Without Walls reflects our commitment to supporting communities beyond the walls of our clinics; connecting people with resources, education, community support, and opportunities to stay informed and engaged during moments that impact LGBTQIA+ health and healthcare access. Healthcare should be easier to access, not harder.
