Most of you know her as Cassidy. Around here, we know her as Moon. 🌙
If you’ve ever stepped through our doors, you’ve likely felt the heart she’s poured into this little refuge. A place built on the belief that nature heals, community matters, and we don’t have to carry hard things alone.
A few weeks ago, Moon was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma (breast cancer). In the coming weeks she’ll undergo a double mastectomy and begin the long, courageous journey of healing and recovery.
While she’ll be stepping back from teaching and the day-to-day for a time, The Summer Moon isn’t going anywhere. This community will continue to gather, breathe, laugh, move, and hold space for one another, just as she always dreamed it would.
If you’ve been wondering how to help, there are a few beautiful ways:
🤍 Keep coming to class.
🤍 Share the GoFundMe our dear friend Malerie created.
🤍 Donate if you’re able.
🤍 Continue showing up for one another.
Every class you attend, every story you repost, every kind word, every dollar given helps carry Moon one step closer to healing, and, if you will, back in the saddle doing the work she loves most.
Community isn’t just something we practice in the easy seasons. It’s what carries us through the difficult ones.
With love,
The Summer Moon 🌙
