The Immunization Champion Award, hosted by the Association of Immunization Managers (AIM) and funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), recognizes individuals doing an exemplary job or going above and beyond to promote or foster immunizations in their communities for children and adults. This year, each of the 48 award winners were nominated and selected from a pool of health professionals, community advocates, and other immunization leaders for significantly contributing to public health in their community.
Our very own ✨Tracy Tyson, MD, pediatrician here at Monarch Maples Pediatrics✨ currently serves as president of the Vermont Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, where she has provided strong, effective leadership in advancing evidence-based immunization practices across the state. She has guided pediatric providers and public health partners in promoting vaccine confidence and ensuring that accurate, science-based information reaches those who need it most. Her leadership is marked by integrity, clarity, and a deep commitment to child health. Dr. Tyson worked collaboratively with health care professionals, public health officials, educators, and community organizations to strengthen immunization efforts statewide. Through her participation in community town halls and public forums, she created spaces for open dialogue, helping to build trust and shared understanding.
