πŸ“£ San Antonio runners, we made this one for you! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

You can have the perfect training plan, brand-new running shoes, and every mile mapped out... but none of that tells you whether your body has the strength to handle what you're about to ask of it.

And we'd much rather help you figure that out before you're 6 weeks into training and your knee starts hurting or an old injury flares up.

So we're hosting a FREE Runners' Workshop to help you get ahead of it! Join us this Saturday, September 12 at our Central-Airport clinic.

We'll take you through a personalized strength readiness screen to see how your body's moving and where you could use a little extra work. You'll leave with your results, exercises to work on, and a better idea of what to focus on alongside your training.

When most people hear pelvic floor physical therapy, they immediately think of postpartum moms.

And while postpartum recovery is absolutely one reason someone might come see us...it's far from the only one!

We work with people of all ages and stages of life because pelvic floor dysfunction isn't limited to one type of person.

If something doesn't feel quite right, you don't have to wait until after having a baby or assume your symptoms are just something you have to live with.

If an internal pelvic floor exam is the part that's making you nervous about booking an appointment, we need you to know this πŸ‘‡

You are *always* in control of your appointment.

We'll explain what we're doing and why, answer every question you have, and move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

And if you don't want an internal assessment? That's okay too. There are plenty of other ways we can learn about what's going on and start working toward your goals.

We can guarantee there will be no surprise "okay, scoot down a little more" πŸ˜…

So if fear of the internal exam is one of the reasons you've been putting off pelvic floor PT, let's talk about it before you ever book an evaluation.

πŸ‘‰ Schedule a free phone consult with our San Antonio pelvic floor PT team through the link in our bio. Ask us the awkward questions, tell us what you're nervous about, and we'll walk you through what to expect!

You can spend 9 months researching the best stroller, comparing car seats, and figuring out exactly how many newborn onesies a tiny human could possibly need... and then you come home from the hospital and realize no one prepared you for the first postpartum p**p. πŸ’©

So much of preparing for a baby is focused on what they'll need that it's easy to forget you'll be recovering from birth at the same time.

And it can be the least glamorous things that make those first few weeks a whole lot more comfortable.

That's why we're big fans of preparing for YOUR recovery before baby arrives too.

If you’ve been wondering whether your pelvic floor symptoms are *bad enough* to see someone about... can we stop using bad enough as the requirement? 🫣

You don't have to wait until your pelvic floor symptoms are ruining your life before you're "allowed" to do something about them!

If you're starting to change how you live because of your symptoms, that's reason enough to start asking questions.

I know I’m not the only one was told their symptoms are just something they have to accept.

And while some changes after pregnancy are absolutely normal…

Living with symptoms that keep you from exercising, picking up your kids, laughing without leaking, or feeling comfortable in your own body isn't something you should have to simply "put up with."

If that's been your experience, I hope this gives you permission to ask more questions, to get a second opinion and find a provider who's willing to look deeper than the fact that you had a baby.

Imagine if every person with knee pain was told to do the exact same exercise.

Sounds a little ridiculous, right? Pelvic floor dysfunction works the same way.

Some people have a pelvic floor that needs more strength and support. Others have muscles that are already working overtime and need to learn how to relax instead.

Those two people shouldn't be doing the exact same exercises. πŸ™…

That's why one of the first things we do is figure out what's really *causing* your symptoms. Once we know that, we can build a treatment plan that's specific to you instead of relying on generic advice.
