In case you missed our newsletter: 🌸 Spring Is Here — So Why Are We Still Grumpy Sometimes? (Link in Bio to Website/Blog)
This transition to Spring has been all-over-the-place: 100 degrees in March, cold and gloomy, then hot hot hot with a side of wind. Patients have been saying they’re irritable and they want to be feeling more hopeful-spring-renewal-fresh-start vibes.
This happens every year at the start of Spring. The nature of spring in Sonoma County IS all over the place, which can feel rocky. And we often don't take the time to hibernate in winter.
Plus in Chinese medicine Spring is Liver season—time to refresh, restore, and get energy moving again after winter’s deep rest. The Liver is in charge of the smooth flow of everything, including emotions, creativity, and fresh thinking! It’s trying to boot up, but it’s rusty.
In Chinese Medicine, when the Liver system loses smooth flow, emotions build pressure. Pressure leaks as snapping, tight shoulders, frequent sighing, that low-grade “I am so over this” feeling. This isn’t about being dramatic. It’s about regulation.
When your nervous system stays in fight-or-flight long enough, irritability becomes your baseline. That’s not a personality shift. That’s physiology. And physiology can be supported.
Yes—move your body daily, reduce input before bed, breathe slower than you think you need to.
But if you’ve been living on edge for weeks, and you’re wondering where your spring feel-good has gone, it may be time to intervene more directly.
Acupuncture regulates the nervous system and reduces inflammatory signaling. Custom formulas support you in between treatments, because you can’t take us home with you.
If you’re tired of feeling like the most reactive version of yourself, we'd love to help you feel the spring renewal feel-good energy.
