This patient had severe ulnar drift of the fingers in B hands. She elected to undergo MP arthroplasties of the index thru small finger of the L Hand. We were called by the MD requesting a dynamic outrigger.

What the MD wants the MD gets. We fabricated this outrigger using North Coast Medical Preferred Matte Black 1/8”. The base and outrigger are custom using this material. We made sure to create a radial pull on the fingers to keep them in alignment with ROM and prevent any type of ulnar drifting.

This is probably the first orthosis of this design we’ve made in the last five years!!!

This one is tough. This past weekend I completed my last workshop with no plans of continuing at this time. I feel very blessed to have had the opportunity to learn and grow with y’all. It’s bitter sweet and the ending of an era. 33 Low Country Hands workshops in 4 years is more than I ever dreamed of. I want to say thank you to those who may have attended. I learned as much from y’all as I hope yall learned from me!
