A Love Story 13 Years in the Making

Today was always supposed to be their wedding day and not even an unexpected hospital stay was going to change that. 💍
After 13 years together, this beautiful couple said “I do” at Memorial Health. Following a fall and back surgery, Brad and Nicole's wedding day looked a little different than planned, but what mattered most remained the same: love, commitment and choosing each other.

The bride, a nurse of 21 years who has dedicated her career to caring for others, found herself surrounded by caregivers on her own special day. With our chaplain officiating and our nursing care team helping make the moment memorable, they celebrated their love at the hospital they have trusted for their care. ❤️

Thirteen years of love. One unforgettable wedding day. And a beautiful reminder that sometimes the most meaningful moments happen where you least expect them.

Please join us in congratulating the newlyweds, Brad & Nicole!

There’s a difference between seeing the work and experiencing it alongside the people who make it happen.

During today’s “Walk in Your World” experience, our senior leaders stepped into departments across our hospital to spend time alongside our caregivers, gaining a firsthand look at the skill, teamwork and compassion that shape every patient interaction.

More than a shadowing experience, Walk in Your World creates meaningful connections between leaders and colleagues—offering a deeper understanding of the work our teams do, the challenges they navigate and the ways we can better support them.

Our leaders walked away inspired, grateful and incredibly proud of the people who bring our mission to life every day. Thank you to our caregivers for welcoming us into your world and, most importantly, for the extraordinary care you provide to our patients and their families.

Congratulations to our most recent DAISY award winner, Katie Stuck, RN, from our emergency department!

Her nomination, submitted by a recent patient, reads:

I came to the ER to undergo a highly painful, invasive, and inherently distressing procedure. From the moment Katie took over my care, she completely transformed my experience. Katie didn't just perform her job; she provided a masterclass in human dignity, profound empathy, and exceptional clinical care during one of my most vulnerable moments.

What truly sets Katie apart is her proactive, compassionate attention to detail. Seeing how much agony I was in, she didn't just ask if I was okay, she took immediate action and restored my comfort and preserved my dignity.

Because of her healing presence, a terrifying and painful ER visit became a testament to what world-class nursing should be. She is an absolute credit to your hospital, a guardian angel in scrubs, and she earned this DAISY Award tenfold."

Katie, congratulations on your DAISY Award. You truly embrace our mission: Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life. Thank you, Katie, for making a difference every day!

As students return to class, so do the incidences of bullying and cyberbullying. It can happen anywhere, including at school, at home, and even in spaces where kids go to connect with friends such as sporting events. Unlike traditional bullying, cyberbullying can follow children 24/7 through their phones and social media.

In this recent WSAV News 3 On Your Side interview, Memorial Health pediatrician, Dr. Ashley Cheek addresses the new forms of bullying and the long-term effects it can have on our children and the steps you can take to protect your children.

Learn more at:

In 2024, the CDC did a study that showed over 40% of high school students who said they are on social media often are also being cyberbullied.
