In a world that often has us hunched over screens and steering wheels, finding the space to open up is essential. While we spend much of our day in flexion (bending forward), spinal extension—the act of lengthening and strengthening the back—is the vital “reset” our bodies crave.
Why Extension Matters
Spinal extension isn’t just about flexibility; it’s about creating a balanced, resilient body. Exercises like the Swan Dive on the reformer (pictured above) focus on:
• Decompressing the Spine: Creating space between the vertebrae to counteract the effects of gravity and sitting.
