The Lumin Fire is currently 7,285 acres. Containment is now estimated at 58%. Forty fire personnel remain on the fire today, as they turn their focus from extinguishment strategies to fire line rehabilitation. Fire behavior on the Lumin Fire remained quiet yesterday, with minimal activity observed across the incident area. Operational work focused on strengthening control lines and patrolling interior pockets of heat, which helped keep the fire within its existing perimeter. Weather conditions remained stable, and no additional fire growth has been reported. With containment lines holding and no significant changes expected, the incident has reached a point where continued daily updates from the Wyoming Type 3 Incident Management Team are no longer necessary and command of the fire will transfer back to the Clearmont Fire District at the end of shift today. The Clearmont-Leiter area has seen an influx of firefighting personnel over the past several days as suppression efforts on the Lumin Fire increased and Wyoming Type 3 Incident Management Team 5 assumed command of the incident. The Lumin Fire is currently 7,220 acres and remained within established fire lines overnight. Crews are using direct extinguishment strategies on the fire, and remaining vigilant with expected high winds from multiple directions today, along with high temperatures and low humidity. Mop up is ongoing, applying water and stirring in with dirt. If firefighting efforts are successful through today, some crews will be released, with several engines remaining Monday. A huge Sheridan County Thanks! to the fire crews, incident management, local ranchers, and partner agencies working on this fire and supporting the crews!

Lightning storms moved across the region on Friday that started
multiple fires north of Clearmont, WY in Sheridan County, near the junction of the SR-Buffalo and Passaic Roads. Two of the three fires were quickly contained; however, the Lumin Fire continues to burn. Local, state, and regional resources quickly began suppression. Weather and fuel conditions lead to the fire quickly growing in size. While structures were threatened, none have been lost so far. The terrain and fuels have made this fire difficult to contain and since its start the fire has burned approximately 7,200 acres of mostly private lands. Additionally, crews and resources have been ordered to relieve local resources. The fire has had fire lines constructed
around it, but faces significant weather challenges this evening.
Updates can be found either on this page or the Clearmont Fire District page.

Hey Sheridan County! It's Rodeo Week and you know what that means: it's going to be HOT! HOT! HOT!

This weekend especially presents a severe heat risk for the County. The high heat particularly affects the elderly, small children, and our friends with health issues.

Please remind your family, friends, and neighbors to stay cool and hydrated. Avoid dehydration "activities", strenuous outdoor exertion, and prolonged exposure to the heat! Check in on our elderly residents if you are able!
