🚨 Louisiana PAs and MDs: We need your help!

LAPA has been working to modernize outdated regulations and improve PA practice in Louisiana. Proposed changes include:
• Repeal of the Locum Tenens requirement
• Elimination of the Performance Plan requirement (with limited exceptions)
• Clarification of obesity and pain management prescribing authority
•Additional updates to reduce unnecessary administrative burdens

The public comment period is open through June 30, 2026. We encourage all Louisiana PAs to submit comments in support of these changes.

A huge shoutout to the LSU Health Shreveport PA Class of 2026!

As they wrap up their final exams and complete their last clinical rotations, they are preparing to enter the final preceptorship phase of the program. Their hard work, dedication, resilience, and commitment to patient care have brought them to this exciting milestone.

Throughout their time in the program, our students gain invaluable experience working with standardized patients, allowing them to practice real-world clinical skills in a supportive, structured environment.
