Growth happens in the exchange. 🌿

When we are open to learning, we expand our understanding of ourselves and others. When we teach, we share wisdom that may help someone else on their journey. When we receive support, we allow ourselves to be cared for. And when we give, we strengthen the connections that make healing possible.

There is value in every role we play. Sometimes we are the student, sometimes the teacher, sometimes the one offering support, and sometimes the one in need of it.

Each experience helps us grow, connect, and become more fully human. 🤍

Last week, Discovery Counseling Group joined community members in Spokane to witness and participate in a gathering for the centered on connection, support, advocacy, and collective care. 🤍

Moments like these remind us that community well-being is about more than individual health🤎it is also shaped by our sense of belonging, our ability to support one another, and the spaces where people come together to share their voices 🗣️and experiences.

Regardless of where we come from or what perspectives we hold, meaningful dialogue, compassion, and human connection 🤝🏿remain essential to building healthier communities.🏘️

We are grateful to have shared space with so many individuals committed to caring for and showing up for one another. We will continue to keep Spokane 3 in our hearts and thoughts and continue to press forward to create a connected community 🤎🌿

Last week, Discovery Counseling Group had the privilege of attending the Community Mental Health Summit in Eastern Washington. Hosted by 🤎

One of the most meaningful parts of this work is the opportunity to learn 🤓alongside other professionals, advocates, and community members who are committed to improving mental🧠 health🩹 care and increasing access to support.

The conversations shared throughout the summit served as a powerful reminder that healing❤️‍🩹 isnt always linear📈 and it isn’t a one size fits all. Unique problems at times require unique and intentional solutions. Healing happens through collaboration, education📚, advocacy, and communities that are willing to invest in one another’s well-being.

We left feeling inspired, challenged, and grateful for the opportunity to continue growing 🪴in our ability to serve our clients and community with compassion and care. 🤎

Even in moments of uncertainty, hope gives us the strength💪🏿 to keep going, healing❤️‍🩹, growing, and believing that better days are possible. Sometimes hope starts small with rest💤, support, one honest conversation, or simply choosing not to give up.

Whitney M. Young Jr. was more than a civil rights leader ✊🏿he was a social worker who believed healing❤️‍🩹 and equality could not exist without access to education, employment, housing, and community support.

Through his leadership with the National Urban League, he helped transform conversations around social justice by advocating for opportunities that supported the overall well-being of Black communities. His work reminds us that mental 🧠health 🩹is deeply connected to the systems and environments people live in every day.

As therapists and helping professionals, his legacy continues to remind us that true care must be holistic, compassionate, and rooted in advocacy. 💚🤎
