Last week, Discovery Counseling Group had the pleasure of attending the Partners INW Block Party 🎉at their new location in the former Ziggy’s building.

We were grateful for the opportunity to celebrate 🎊 their new space and learn more about the ways they continue to support our community by providing access to food 🍱 , clothing 👚, and other essential resources 🎒for those who need them.

For us, events like this are about more than networking they’re an opportunity to listen, learn, and better understand the people and communities we serve. The more connected we are, the better equipped we are to be a resource when support is needed.🤎

Thank you to Partners INW for welcoming us and for continuing to create spaces where community members can find resources, connection, and support. We’re grateful to be part of the conversation.✨🤎

Dr. Beverly Daniel Tatum is a clinical psychologist, educator, author📚, and nationally recognized scholar whose work has helped deepen our understanding of racial identity, culture, and psychological well-being.

Through her research, writing📝, and leadership, Dr. Tatum has encouraged conversations about how race, identity, and lived experiences shape the way people understand themselves and navigate the world. Her work has provided valuable insight for mental-health 🧠and social-work professionals seeking to provide more culturally responsive and holistic care.

As the former president of Spelman College, she also championed holistic wellness and launched the college’s Wellness Revolution, emphasizing lifelong approaches to physical and emotional well-being.

Dr. Tatum’s legacy reminds us that supporting mental health means creating space for the whole person their identity, culture, experiences, and community.✨🤎

A book can open a door. A community can help you walk through it. 📚🤎

Last week, Discovery Counseling Group had the opportunity to table at TheZONE Back-to-School Literacy 📚Fair, and we loved being part of a day centered around learning🤓, connection, and community.✨

As a new school year begins, we’re reminded that preparing children and families for success is about more than school supplies✏️ and backpacks 🎒. It’s about creating spaces where young people feel encouraged, families feel supported, and everyone has access to the resources they need to thrive.🌱

We’re grateful to TheZONE for curating a space for our community to come together and for allowing us the opportunity to be part of it.🤎

Because when we invest in our children, families, and community, we invest in a healthier future for all of us. 🌿🤎

Community, Connection & Resilience ✨🌿

Spokane has faced some incredibly difficult weeks. From extreme heat and wildfires to evacuations, loss, and uncertainty, many in our community have experienced moments that have tested our strength. As our community continues to recover, we’re reminded of how important connection and support can be.

Last weekend, Discovery Counseling Group had the opportunity to attend The Way to Justice Community Celebration 🎉 a beautiful reminder that even during difficult seasons, we can continue to show up for one another.

Events like this create space for families to access resources, build connections, experience joy, and feel supported. They remind us that healing doesn’t happen in isolation❤️‍🩹 it happens through community, compassion, and people willing to stand beside one another.

We are grateful to The Way to Justice , the organizers, volunteers, community partners, and everyone who continues to pour into Spokane.

We’ve faced a lot together, and we’re still standing together. 🤎🌱
