This last week was a reeeeeal butt-kicker. This time last week I was pretty much having a total breakdown. I walked in to the studio to teach this upper body strength class and unknowingly walked into a studio that had been flooded from a ceiling leak (why would anyone do roof repair in the middle of a rain storm?!). The studio had been turned upside down from roofers who came in without my permission and started moving and dumping everything in my storage closet. Before arriving, I had no idea the studio was a disaster or that I would need to cancel classes that night. Roger and I stayed until 10 PM. Just trying to pull the studio together enough to have classes the next day.
Fast forward a week, and although the studio is not fully repaired yet, we are back in the saddle, literally and figuratively. And as we were stretching tonight after this TOUGH workout, I got choked up thinking about the incredible people in the room (and this studio). The ones who checked in, brought coffee, offered to stay and clean… and who never got frustrated that I had to cancel classes and change another class. Just support and love and appreciation for this community.
Being a business owner is brutal. And there are honestly lots of moments where I wonder if it is worth it. And although a crisis like this is beyond frustrating, it mostly just cements why I do all of this. For these incredible people.
I am the luckiest. 💚
