The Chase

Are you running after something you can't quite name? At first we think we're chasing after success or Love or Money or recognition or beauty or freedom or a quieter life.

Often what we chase on the surface is carrying another longing underneath.

Our Meditation Today 🧘🏼‍♀️

Take a comfortable seat and gently close your eyes. Let your shoulders soften, unclench your jaw, and take a slow, deep breath in... and exhale. Again, breathe in the goodness of God... and breathe out every worry, fear, and burden.

As you settle into this moment, remember this beautiful promise from Lamentations 3:22-23:

"The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning."

Every sunrise is a reminder that God's faithfulness has never failed. No matter what yesterday held, His mercy meets us again today. He has walked with you through every season—the joyful mountaintops, the uncertain valleys, and even the moments when you couldn't see His hand. Looking back, you can see that He never left you.

Take another deep breath.

Maybe you're waiting for an answer to prayer. Maybe you're trusting God for healing, direction, restoration, or peace. Remember that God's delays are never His denials. His timing is perfect because His love is perfect.

Hear these words from Deuteronomy 31:8:

"Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; He will neither fail you nor abandon you."

Imagine placing every concern into God's hands. You don't have to carry tomorrow today. The God who has been faithful in your past is already waiting in your future.

As you breathe in, silently say, "Great is Your faithfulness."

As you breathe out, whisper, "I trust You."

Let those words settle deep within your heart.

Lord, thank You for being constant when life is uncertain. Thank You that Your promises never change and Your love never runs out. Help us remember that even when we cannot trace Your hand, we can always trust Your heart. Fill us today with confidence, peace, and unwavering hope as we rest in Your faithfulness.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

The air was filled with haze from wildfires hundreds of miles away. The sun was still shining, the ocean was still beautiful, but we couldn't see them clearly because something had come between us and the view.

Isn't that a picture of our spiritual lives at times? We love God, yet stress, fear, disappointment, pride, or the distractions of life can settle over our hearts like a veil, making it difficult to recognize His presence.

The Apostle Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 3:16-17:

"But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom."

And when Jesus gave His life on the cross, Matthew 27:51 tells us,

"At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom."

That veil represented separation between God and His people. But Jesus removed that separation forever. Through Him, we can come into God's presence with confidence. Nothing has to stand between us and our Heavenly Father except the things we choose to hold onto.

Today, the haze has lifted. Look at the blue sky. Feel the warmth of the sun. Listen to the waves. The beauty was never gone—it was simply hidden for a season.

Maybe today God is inviting you to let Him clear the haze from your heart. Release the worry you've been carrying. Let go of the resentment that has weighed you down. Surrender the fear about tomorrow. Turn toward Jesus, and let His light fill every corner of your life.

Hebrews 10:22 encourages us:

"Let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts, fully trusting Him."

What an incredible invitation. Because of Jesus, we don't have to wonder if God is near. He is. The veil has been torn, the haze can lift, and His love is always shining, even when we cannot see it.

Meditation on Ephesians 6:13

"Therefore put on every piece of God's armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm." — Ephesians 6:13 (NLT)

As we settle into this moment, gently close your eyes if you're comfortable. Take a slow, deep breath in... and slowly let it go. Again, breathe in God's peace... and breathe out every burden you've been carrying.

Today's scripture reminds us that life is not always easy. We all face battles—fear, worry, temptation, disappointment, grief, or uncertainty. But God never asks us to fight alone. He invites us to put on His armor, not our own strength.

As you breathe in, imagine God placing His armor on you.

His belt of truth reminds you that His promises never fail.

His breastplate of righteousness protects your heart with His grace.

His shoes of peace steady your steps wherever He leads.

His shield of faith extinguishes the doubts and fears that try to overwhelm you.

His helmet of salvation guards your mind with the assurance that you belong to Christ.

And His Word, the sword of the Spirit, reminds you that God's truth is always stronger than the enemy's lies.

Notice that the verse doesn't say you'll never face a battle. It says that after the battle, you'll still be standing firm. Not because of your own power, but because God has held you every step of the way.

As you stand here today—whether on the beach, in the studio, or wherever God has placed you—plant your feet firmly. Feel the ground beneath you and remember that Christ is your solid foundation.

Take one final deep breath.

Silently pray:

"Lord, thank You for equipping me with everything I need for today. Help me stand firm in faith, walk in Your peace, and trust Your strength instead of my own. No matter what comes my way, remind me that You go before me, stand beside me, and live within me. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Today, walk with confidence. Whatever battle you face, God has already provided the armor you need—and by His grace, you will stand firm.

Clothe Yourself in What Matters

Imagine putting on shirts of compassion, patience, and forgiveness. That might seem ridiculous, but Colossians 3:12 tells us to “clothe ourselves” in traits that match our identity in Christ. In other words, we need to cover ourselves in actions and attitudes that result in us looking more like Jesus every day.

So, how do we do this? One way to get started is by thinking of the struggles that keep you from living more like Jesus, and then start to replace them with their opposite action.

- If you are sarcastic and cutting, choose to say something kind and encouraging instead.
- If you tend to come across as harsh, choose to do something that requires gentleness.
- If you’re holding a grudge, make the hard but important decision to extend forgiveness anyway.

As you go about doing that, choose to take part in activities that build you up spiritually. This could look like connecting with friends who will keep you accountable, memorizing Scripture that you can apply to your life, or cultivating compassion by serving in your community. The more you intentionally pursue actions that lead to humility, compassion, and kindness, the more those traits will become a natural part of your life.

And as you pursue the qualities mentioned in Colossians 3:12, the changes this produces will be most evident in the way you treat other people.

The apostle John said that we can’t claim to love Jesus if we hate each other (1 John 4:20), so a life that reflects Jesus is going to embody love. And according to 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, love is patient and kind, is not irritable, and keeps no record of being wronged. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

A life marked by God’s love is going to display the very things the apostle Paul talks about in Colossians 3:12.

Need a quick way to center your day? Try these three simple, Christ-centered practices you can do at home to extend our studio experience and prepare for retreats. 🙏🧘‍♀️

1) Breath prayer: Inhale “Lord, I need you,” exhale “Thank you.” Repeat for one minute to reset.
2) Grounding posture: Stand tall, breathe slow, soften shoulders, reach up, fold forward-move with intention for 3-5 breaths.
3) Scripture journaling: Write one verse, then write one line about what it means for your day. Keep it short, keep it honest.

We offer these practices to welcome you into studio classes and retreat spaces with a calm, open heart. Ready to try them in person? Visit https://wix.to/dvZ96Za to learn more and join us.
