Today they honored our very own Dr. Rouse, Captain Joe P. Rouse, United States Navy, with a beautifully handcrafted Quilt of Valor.
This stunning quilt is more than just a masterpiece of fabric and thread; it is a tangible "thank you" and a civilian hug wrapped around a hero.
Every stitch represents gratitude for Captain Rouse’s unwavering dedication to protecting our freedom.🇺🇲
The mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation is deeply inspiring. It all began in 2003 with a dream by founder Catherine Roberts, whose son was deployed in Iraq. Feeling the deep worry of a mother, she had a powerful vision of a post-deployment warrior struggling with war demons, who was then wrapped in a quilt. The quilt brought him comfort, hope, and a deep sense of peace. That single dream sparked a national movement, and today, volunteers across the country continue to stitch love, healing, and honor into quilts for our veterans and service members.
Thank you to the Quilts of Valor Foundation for your visit, your incredible generosity, and for crafting such a beautiful piece of history for Captain Rouse. We are forever grateful for your mission to cover those who have covered us.
