October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), and we're celebrating the dedication, determination, and success of individuals like Kane!

Kane's journey toward employment began while developing his independent living skills through Community Habilitation services. With a strong desire to work, Kane continued building his skills and eventually applied for ACCES-VR services to help him reach his employment goals.

His persistence and motivation paid off! In January 2025, Kane was hired by SUNY Oswego Auxiliary Services, where he has become a valued member of the team.

Whether he's serving students, staff, and customers, restocking his station, maintaining food safety standards, or providing outstanding customer service, Kane approaches his work with a smile and a willingness to help wherever he's needed.

Through his hard work and continued growth, Kane recently transitioned to Extended Supported Employment (SEMP) services, marking another exciting milestone in his employment journey!

Kane's story is a wonderful reminder of what can happen when determination, opportunity, and the right supports come together.

Please join us in congratulating Kane on his accomplishments and celebrating the important contributions he makes to his workplace every day!

At Indera, we believe disability should never limit opportunity, and we're proud to support individuals like Kane as they pursue meaningful employment and greater independence.

🗣️ EVERY RESIDENT DESERVES TO BE HEARD.

When you or someone you care about lives in a long term care facility, knowing your rights and where to turn with concerns can make all the difference.

Indera’s Ombudsman Program advocates for people living in nursing homes and other long term care settings, helping residents understand their rights, voice concerns, and work toward solutions.

Ombudsmen are there to listen, support, educate, and advocate while keeping the resident’s wishes at the center of the conversation.

📣 Have a concern about care or resident rights?
🤝 Need help navigating a difficult situation?
🗣️ Want support making sure your voice is heard?

You don’t have to navigate it alone.
