It’s CPR & AED Awareness Week ❤️ Could you save a child’s life?

Pediatric and infant CPR is different than adult CPR and knowing those differences can make all the difference in an emergency.

👶 Infants: Compress 1.5 inches deep using one hand or the two-thumb technique.

🧒 Children: Compress about 2 inches deep using one or two hands.

For both:
✔️ 30 compressions + 2 breaths
✔️ 100–120 compressions per minute (think Stayin’ Alive or Baby Shark)

If you’re alone, start CPR immediately, call 911 after 2 minutes, and use an AED as soon as one is available.

Learning CPR takes minutes. Using it could save a life. Share this post to help spread awareness!

Today is World Autoimmune Arthritis Day, a time to raise awareness for the millions of people living with autoimmune arthritis, including children.

Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is the most common form of autoimmune arthritis in kids, affecting nearly 300,000 children and teens across the U.S. JIA can cause joint pain, swelling, stiffness, and make it harder for children to participate in the activities they love.

At Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital, our pediatric rheumatology team works together to help patients achieve long-term remission, improve mobility, and get back to being kids.
