Men deserve vulnerability, softness, authenticity, and the full range of their emotions. I’m honored to work with men in therapy and be part of breaking the stigma and traditional, narrow definitions of masculinity. We ALL have mental health, whether we take care of it or not.

tip of the week:

While we can all address our mental health on our own, healing with community offers a unique opportunity for growth. When we share our stories and embrace vulnerability we fight the stigma around mental health together. There’s something uniquely powerful when sharing your struggle to hear someone you trust say, “I get that,” or “me too.” Providing mutual support to each other helps to strengthen us all.

As we wrap up the month, remember that we all deserve to take care of ourselves year round. Mental health matters for us all. We’re in this together.

Last week I was so thrilled to have a grand re-opening of my practice to celebrate our new office space. So many friends and colleagues attended and I was overwhelmed by the support. Being a therapist is my life’s work and I’m so excited for this next chapter and space to support more people in their healing journey. 🌵

tip of the week:

Mental health stigma is still a real challenge in our society. It includes stereotypes, discrimination, and general negative attitudes towards people with mental health challenges. We can fight the stigma by remembering that we all have mental health, whether we take care of it or not. We can be mindful to avoid negative language when discussing mental health and empower each other to ask for help when needed. Reducing stigma allows us all to care for ourselves and be there for each other.

10 years ago already. Getting my doctorate degree from changed my life in more ways than I could have ever imagined. I’m so grateful for my educational experience and all the amazing things I’ve been able to do because of it. Integrated health/finding ways to treat the whole person holistically and collaboratively across disciplines is the way!

tip of the week:

Your mental health directly impacts your physical health, how you function daily, and your quality of life. Mental health encompasses your thinking, feeling, behaviors, relationships, and how you handle the stressors of everyday life. When you invest in your mental health you increase your options for coping and set yourself up with tools for sustainable living.

tip of the week:

It’s ok to not be ok. So often people feel pressured to be “happy” or “stay positive.” While it’s important to practice gratitude and feel the good in our lives, it’s also important to acknowledge that no one is happy all the time nor is everything always “sunshine and rainbows.” Positivity turns toxic when people aren’t allowed to feel their full range of emotions. Feeling are data. They communicate information to you. If you’re struggling, check-in with yourself or a trusted person in your life. It’s ok to not be ok and you still deserve care and compassion.
