Yesterday I had the pleasure of presenting The Power of Human Connection at the Pyle Adult Recreation Center, and it was such a meaningful experience. 😊

We explored how connection impacts our well-being and how meaningful relationships are strengthened through curiosity, authenticity, and intentionality. The audience was incredibly engaged, and I especially loved hearing people’s stories, reflections, and thoughtful questions. The discussion was so rich that the presentation ended up running longer than planned because people wanted to keep sharing and asking questions.

I’m bummed I wasn’t able to capture live footage of the presentation, but I’m glad I got to take a few pictures before we got started.

This experience was such a beautiful reminder thatΒ human connection matters, and we have to be intentional about taking action to create it. πŸ’œ

This is one of the presentations I offer for workplaces, nonprofits, community organizations, and other groups. If your organization is looking for an engaging speaker on human connection, communication, belonging, workplace culture, or another topic related to emotional well-being, I’d love to connect and explore how I can support your team.

Relationships come in many different forms, and one of the most meaningful things we can do is approach experiences that are different from our own with curiosity instead of judgment.

One thing I often notice is that when a polyamorous relationship experiences conflict, people are quick to blame the relationship structure itself. But every relationship (monogamous, polyamorous, or otherwise) requires communication, trust, intentionality, and ongoing effort. Challenges don't automatically mean a relationship is unhealthy or destined to fail.

As a therapist, I specialize in working with polyamorous, ethically non-monogamous, and other nontraditional relationships, and I love helping people build relationships that align with their values rather than society's expectations.

If you'd like to better understand ethical non-monogamy, my Love Without Limits workshop is a great place to start. We explore different relationship structures, common misconceptions, communication, boundaries, jealousy, and practical tools for creating healthy, consensual relationships.

And if you're looking for more personalized support, whether you're curious about ENM, navigating a transition, or simply wanting to strengthen your relationships, I'd be honored to work with you.

What if confidence isn't about changing who you are... but about becoming less afraid to let people see the real you? πŸ‘βœ¨οΈ

So many of us have learned to make ourselves smallerβ€”to stay quiet, downplay our accomplishments, hide our emotions, or shape ourselves into who we think others want us to be.

But what if you didn't have to?

What if you had a space where you could show up authentically, connect with incredible women, and remember that you don't have to earn your worth by being perfect?

That's exactly why I created What Does It Mean to Be Seen?β€”an interactive Women's Empowerment Workshop where we'll explore confidence, authenticity, self-expression, and connection through meaningful conversation, creative reflection, and experiential activities.

Whether you're craving deeper connections, looking to invest in your personal growth, or simply wanting a night to reconnect with yourself, I'd love for you to join us. πŸ™πŸ½βœ¨οΈ

🌈 Happy Pride Month! 🌈 I was recently asked:

"For someone who cares about LGBTQ+ people, but struggles to understand and/or agree, what's one way they can still show up and support without feeling like they're compromising their beliefs?"

This is such a thoughtful question, and while I share more in the video, here are three ideas that can help when interacting with people who are different than you.

✨️ 1. Practice self-awareness.
Notice your own beliefs, assumptions, and biases. Where did they come from? How do they shape the way you interact with others?

✨️ 2. Practice acceptance.
Someone else's identity doesn't diminish your own. We don't have to agree on everything to treat each other with kindness, dignity, and respect.

✨️ 3. Embrace our differences.
Our diversity is one of humanity's greatest strengths. Different perspectives, identities, and experiences challenge us, help us grow, and make our communities stronger.

As both a therapist and a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I believe that healing begins with curiosity, compassion, and connection. That's true in therapy, and it's also one of the core values behind my nonprofit, Greenhouse Gives, where we create spaces for people from all walks of life to come together because we are . 🌈

If you're looking for a place to meet new people and experience that sense of connection, check out Greenhouse Gives and join us at an upcoming event. Our next Speed Friending event is happeningon Sat, July 11th! 😊

Expect meaningful conversations, creative reflection, practical takeaways, and genuine connection with a small group of supportive women. Whether you're looking to step outside your comfort zone, strengthen your confidence, connect more deeply with yourself and others, or simply spend an evening investing in your personal growth, I'd love to have you there. 😊

Happy Pride Month! πŸ˜ƒπŸŒˆ As both a therapist and a member of the LGBTQ+ community, Pride Month is something that holds personal meaning for me.

A significant portion of my caseload consists of LGBTQ+ individuals, couples, and families. This is partly because I specialize in polyamory and ethical non-monogamy, which often overlaps with LGBTQ+ communities, but it's also because creating affirming spaces for people to show up authentically has always been important to me.

One of the greatest privileges of being a therapist is getting a front-row seat to the resilience, courage, growth, and humanity of the people I work with every day.

And if there's one thing I've learned, it's this: beneath all of our labels, identities, beliefs, and differences, we're all human beings looking for the same things. We want to feel seen. We want to belong. We want to be loved, understood, and accepted for who we are.
With everything happening in the world right now, I believe we can all do a little better at leading with curiosity instead of assumptions, compassion instead of judgment, and kindness instead of fear.

Whether you're celebrating Pride this month, supporting someone you love, questioning your identity, or simply trying to better understand experiences different from your own, I hope you'll remember that every person has a story worth hearing.

We don't have to agree on everything to treat each other with dignity and respect.❀️🌈✨️

I was asked to give one example... and somehow ended up giving about ten. πŸ˜‚

In my defense, I spent years working almost exclusively with children and families before opening my private practice, so talking about behavior management comes pretty naturally to me.

While my caseload these days includes more adults, couples, and relationship work, I still love working with children and families and would be thrilled to have more kids on my caseload.

One of the most important things I teach parents is that behavior is communication. When a child is struggling emotionally, it often shows up through changes in behavior before they have the words to explain what they're feeling.

Some examples to watch for include:
✨ Talking significantly more or less than usual
✨ Eating significantly more or less than usual
✨ Spending much more or much less time with friends
✨ Major changes in grades or school performance
✨ Sudden shifts in mood, energy, or behavior

These changes don't automatically mean something is wrong, but they can be clues that your child is navigating an emotional experience and may need additional support.

If you're looking for support understanding your child's behavior, improving communication, or navigating family challenges, I'd be happy to help. πŸ’œ

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of participating in a live virtual speaking engagement for National Smile Day. The prompt was simple: How do you bring joy and happiness into the world?

With only a few minutes to speak, I found myself reflecting on a childhood memory and an important lesson it taught me about happiness, values, and feeling truly alive.

One of my favorite parts of speaking is creating moments of reflection and connection, even in a virtual setting. Whether I'm facilitating a workshop, leading a discussion, or speaking to a group, my goal is to help people reconnect with themselves, each other, and the things that matter most. πŸ’œ

You may notice that this recording only shows me on screen. Due to some technical issues with the event recording layout, portions of the host's introduction and closing remarks didn't translate well to the recording, so I've shared the speaking portion here.

A huge thank you to .smiley for welcoming me to speak and for creating a space dedicated to positivity, encouragement, and connection. 😊

If your organization, business, conference, or community group is looking for an engaging speaker or facilitator on topics such as communication, emotional intelligence, workplace well-being, connection, belonging, or personal growth, I'd love to connect! 😊

Good listening is about more than just hearing words. It’s about helping the other person feel understood, valued, and emotionally safe. πŸ’œ

In this clip, I talk about:
✨ Body language
✨ Reflective listening
✨ Showing genuine attention and curiosity

And yes… I realized afterward that β€œdrinking water” probably wasn’t the best example of bad listening habits πŸ˜‚ Drinking water is perfectly fine while someone is talking to you. Just maybe dont aggressively chug your water bottle while someone is sharing their deepest feelings with you. Lol

In my defense, these videos were completely unscripted and that's just the random example that popped up in my head in the moment. πŸ˜…

Communication is one of my favorite things to teach and support people with because healthy communication can completely transform relationships, conflict, connection, and emotional intimacy.

πŸ’¬ If you'd like to learn more practical tools for healthy communication, check out my Say It Better, Love Smarter communication workshop. πŸ‘πŸ½
