Insurance has a bar for "better." It's a low one.

Can you do the bare minimum your day asks of you? Good enough. Case closed. Benefits end.

• Nobody's asking if you can play pickleball with your friends without your knee hurting on the third game.
• Nobody's asking if you can get back to lifting the way you used to.
• Or if you can chase your kids around the yard.
• Or wake up without that same nagging thing you've learned to live with.

All of that? That's what I care about.

Insurance measures whether you're functional. I measure whether you hit the goal you walked in with. Those are not the same thing, and settling for the first one is how people end up back in pain six months later.

Every plan I build is aimed at your actual goal, not the minimum required to close your file.

If your rehab exercises keep flaring you up, that does not automatically mean the exercise is wrong.

A lot of the time, the issue is the dose.

Too much load.
Too many reps.
Too soon.

That’s why rehab should never be just a handout with the same numbers written next to every exercise.

Before I give you a plan, I’m looking at how your body responds to a few things.

Will this exercise challenge you?
How capable are you to perform it properly?
What’s the risk if it doesn’t agree with you?

That tells me where to start.

Then as your body adapts, we build.

More load.
More challenge.
More capacity.

That’s the problem with generic rehab.

“3 sets of 10” isn’t a plan.

And it definitely doesn’t work when someone shows you the exercise and then walks off to the next patient.

At Evolve, your care is 1-on-1.

Your program moves with how capable you are, how much you're challenged, and what your goals actually are.

If you’ve been stuck in the cycle of flaring up, backing off, and starting over, let’s figure out why.

It's not a conspiracy. That's just what insurance is built to do. Manage cost. Not manage your recovery.

Insurance doesn't care if you get better.

Your insurance company will approve twelve visits with someone who's never watched you move under a bar, in the same breath it denies coverage for the provider who actually knows how to fix what's wrong with you.

So who's actually watching your outcome? Who's tracking whether you're stronger this month than last month? Who's adjusting your plan when something isn't working?

That's on your provider. Not your plan.

Pick the person, not the network.

A great way to wrap up an incredible summer.

We’re grateful to have been a part of and to support the Longview Collective’s weekly Dash & Dine. Seeing so many people come together each week to move, connect, and prioritize their health has been so much fun.

Building a healthier community happens through collaboration, and we’re excited to continue partnering with organizations like Longview Collective to create more opportunities for people to stay active.

We can’t wait to see how we continue to grow the health and wellness of our community together in the months and years ahead. Here’s to what’s next! 💪🏃

Alexis, wow! 🙏 A knot in her neck for over ten years and migraines that followed her most of her life, both gone. That's not a small thing and we don't take it lightly. This is exactly why we take the time to find the root cause instead of just treating symptoms. So glad you're feeling like yourself again, and thank you for trusting us with your care. If you've been carrying something for years and just assumed it was permanent, free discovery call at the link in bio.

Is red light therapy just a wellness trend? Not if you have the right tools. We use red light and NIR+ (near infrared), light at a specific wavelength that gets absorbed by your cells and helps them produce energy faster. That means faster tissue repair, less inflammation, and less soreness after hard training.

I pair it with dry needling a lot. Needling gets directly into the tissue. It restores blood flow, calms the nervous system's pain response, and starts the repair process right at the source. Red light picks up from there and speeds up what happens after. Recovery windows get shorter. You're back to training sooner instead of nursing something for weeks.

It’s a great recovery tool when it’s layered into a real plan.

Should you push through pain?

Sometimes yes.
Sometimes no.

A simple way to think about it is the traffic light rule.

🟢 Green light. 1-3/10
Mild discomfort is usually okay. If it stays controlled and settles quickly, keep moving.

🟡 Yellow light. 4-6/10
This is where you need to pay attention. If pain is building, not settling down, or making you second guess the movement, you may need to modify. Less load. Fewer reps. Smaller range. If you’re not sure, reach out. Or consider scheduling a one-time recovery session. It might be enough to calm things down and point you in the right direction.

🔴 Red light. 7+/10
Sharp pain or pain that changes how you move is your sign to stop and reassess. That’s a good indicator it’s time to come in and let me take a look.

Pain is not always a stop sign. But it is information.

If you’re not sure whether you should keep going, modify, or stop, send me a message or book a visit through the link in bio.

"Do you take my insurance?"

I get asked this more than almost anything else. Short answer, yes.

We're in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO plans. We also accept HSA and FSA. (Not HMO plans, so double check which one you actually have.)

BUT let me push back on the question a little.

Is insurance really the thing that should decide where you get care?

Here's what most people don’t think about:
🔸Insurance doesn’t pay for outcomes. It pays for visits. It doesn’t care if you actually get better. Whether you walk out stronger is on the provider, not the insurance plan.
🔸Insurance doesn't pay for hybrid care. If you can't get in 2-3 times a week, the app support and 24/7 access between sessions isn't something a co-pay covers anywhere. That part is built by me and you.
🔸Insurance doesn’t know your goals. A network doesn’t care if you want to deadlift again, run a marathon, or get back to your sport. That’s what I care about.
🔸Don’t assume in-network is cheaper. Between deductibles, co-pays, and visit caps, cash pay often lands close to what you'd spend in-network. Sometimes it's less.
🔸 Even out-of-network, you can often submit for reimbursement through your provider. We'll give you what you need to try.

Pick your provider based on the results you want. Then figure out the insurance part.
