This is so true. Most ill people don’t need your advice/tips etc. they need snacks, laughter, someone who just comes sits with them and lets them talk, who doesn’t judge them or blame them. Be that kind of friend or family member. 😘💕

Hello everyone 😊.
I am checking in to let you know I have been taking a break from all social media this past month.

Even therapists can go through bouts of needing a break from the noise of ads, politics and the bad news of this world. I started to notice it was really dragging me down and I needed to step away. In place of social media, I have been reading real books 📕 😁, gardening, being a grandma-cooking and baking and trying to get together with people in person. It has been rejuvenating!

I have made posts on self-care, mental health, narcissism, domestic abuse of all types and how God sees you and loves you. I have been posting content here for NINE years! It’s hard to believe but it has taken a lot of time.

I have really enjoyed the creativity and educational aspects of content creation and interacting with all of you. I am not signing out forever but will not be here as often.

I appreciate all who have supported this page.
Take care😘, Cynthia

Co-parenting with a narcissist is NOT for the weak! You must remain calm but assertive. You must counter parent to unwind what the narcissist has said and done to the kids during visitation. You must be calm, cool and collected in family court and so much more! It can be exhausting and defeating. Part of overcoming this is to find a good therapist/coach to help walk you through it step by step.

Part of healthy communication is being able to discuss issues, boundaries and needs with your partner.

When your partner shows narcissistic traits, they often make even minor relationship adjustments or conversations about them and become easily hurt and defensive.

They don’t see how their choices or behavior is impacting you and honestly, they don’t care and take no responsibility.

They will refuse to acknowledge your concerns by ignoring or denying them. The acronym D.A.R.V.O. = Deny, Attack, and Reverse Victim and Offender is an example of how this plays out.

Essentially you become the offender and they become the victim. Nothing gets resolved and you end up confused and frustrated.

Women’s mental health care is important. Do you agree?

A father turned devastating personal loss into a new model of maternal mental health care. Steven D’Achille lost his wife, Alexis Joy D’Achille, in 2013 after she developed severe postpartum mental illness following the birth of their daughter.

Alexis sought medical help multiple times but died by su***de about six weeks after giving birth, at age 30. Steven later founded the Alexis Joy D’Achille Foundation and worked with Allegheny Health Network to create a specialized center for women experiencing mental health problems during pregnancy and after childbirth.

The Alexis Joy D’Achille Center for Perinatal Mental Health opened at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh in 2018. Its intensive outpatient program was designed around an important idea: mothers should be able to receive psychiatric treatment without being separated from their babies.

Women can bring their infants while receiving individual and group therapy, psychiatric care, medication management and mother-baby therapies. The center treats conditions including postpartum depression and anxiety and other serious perinatal mental health disorders, providing specialized care during a period when keeping mother and baby together can be especially important.
