I had the privilege of digging deep into the Studio for children and their favorite people yesterday at the Milwaukee At Museum and then up to the Kohler Art Center where they have had a preschool for going on 60 years! This is how the arts should be a part of the lives of children!♥️

On this International Day of Play, I was inspired to be part of the crowd cheering on Philly as being named the first Playful Learning City! Yay to Playful Learning Landscapes and their many partners for celebrating play as part of the essential infrastructure for children and families!

A very sad start to Pride month in Philly and truly the end of an era with the passing of Dito Van Reigersberg. I’ve been so moved by watching him perform through all of my years here in Philly. The arts community has lost a vibrant soul.

Today we recognize World Autism Awareness Day 💙
Art therapy offers meaningful, individualized ways for autistic individuals to express themselves beyond words. Through color, texture, movement, and creative exploration, art-making can support communication, emotional regulation, sensory integration, and self-advocacy.
In art therapy, there is no “right” way to create—only opportunities to connect, process, and be seen. For many autistic individuals, this can open pathways to expression that feel safe, empowering, and authentic.
As we celebrate neurodiversity today, let’s continue to advocate for inclusive, accessible creative spaces where all forms of communication are valued.
