There is continued growth in Plastic Surgery as reported in the latest American Society of Plastic Surgeons’ statistics. This trend is definitely noticeable in my Walnut Creek Plastic Surgery Practice, as more and more patients are seeking the advice of a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and scheduling their cosmetic procedures with confidence and excitement. Most of my patients desire breast enhancement, facial rejuvenation and body contouring, to name a few of the procedures offered.

Plastic Surgery is on the Rise

Nationwide, a 6% increase for reconstructive surgery and 7% increase for cosmetic surgery was reported by the ASPS. There is large overlap of these often complimentary classifications, but the 2025 distribution of surgeries is consistent with previous years.

Liposuction is an outpatient surgical procedure that uses a cannula (a thin hollow tube with a rounded tip that has holes on the sides) to suction pockets of fat and reshape your body.

Also called Liposculpture, the procedure has the advantage of using small incisions to remove relatively large volumes of fat, from specific areas, with a relatively short recovery period.

To facilitate the safe and predictable removal of fat, Tumescent Fluid is injected into the fat prior to aspiration. This technique decreases post-operative discomfort, allows for the smoother removal of fat and minimizes bruising.

When excess skin is obstructing the visual field before surgery, blepharoplasty provides improved peripheral vision.
