Chronic dehydration is incredibly common after bariatric surgery—and it isn’t always as simple as “just drink more water.”

A smaller stomach, difficulty tolerating large amounts of fluid, nausea, and avoiding liquids around meals can make it challenging to meet daily hydration needs. Over time, you may notice:

✨ Fatigue or weakness
✨ Headaches or dizziness
✨ Dark urine
✨ Dry mouth
✨ Muscle cramps
✨ Constipation
✨ A racing heart or feeling lightheaded when standing

Small, frequent sips and electrolytes should always be the foundation—but when oral hydration isn’t keeping up, medically appropriate IV hydration may provide additional support.

THIS. This is what I love. This is why I do what I do.

When someone knows something is wrong but keeps being told that everything looks “normal,” it can feel so defeating. Mehgan trusted me to listen, look deeper, and help her find answers—and watching her get her energy back, see her hair grow again, and finally feel like herself is everything to me.

I don’t want my clients to feel dismissed or like just another number. I want them to feel heard, cared for, and supported with a plan created specifically for them.

This is so much more than IVs, labs, vitamins, or appointments. It’s helping someone reclaim their quality of life—and I will never stop being grateful that God allows me to do this work!

Our hearts are breaking for everyone around us fighting the fires! We wish there was more we could do to help. If anyone fighting the fires needs hydration, we will come to you, no charge.

If you’re looking for ways to help, this is from a volunteer FD in Possum Kingdom, as of 8:50am: “We are fully supplied. People have donated in droves. What we need now is donations. We have burnt our fire hoses and tires and broke trucks. As this continues I’ll let you know is supplies run low.”
