St. Michael's Home

Located in a idyllic residential neighborhood of Yonkers, NY, St. St. The open, airy common areas of the Home are open for use by all residents.

Michael’s Home opened its doors in May of 1958 as a non-profit adult care facility for the Greek Orthodox community. Michael's strives to maintain the independence and dignity of its residents who may have reduced powers of mobility or of mental awareness. All able residents have complete freedom to come and go as they please and the Home encourages all residents to maintain their normal relations

hips with family and friends. Michael’s offers the following types of accommodations:
• Private bedroom with private bath
• Private bedroom with use of common bathrooms
• Shared bedroom (2 residents per room) with use of common bathrooms

Each resident’s room is charmingly decorated and furnished with double or single beds, a standing closet, dresser, and nightstand as well as linens and towels. Michael’s offers residents a magnificent chapel where they have the opportunity to worship in a traditional Greek Orthodox setting, a beautifully appointed dining room, spacious recreation and TV rooms, a modern medical facility, a fully equipped beauty salon and other accommodations needed
for the quality care of our residents. In addition to housing, the Home also provides:
• Attentive staffing on duty at all times
• Weekly visits by physicians, beauticians, and other caregivers
• 3 balanced meals plus 2 snacks a day, which are prepared under the supervision of a certified nutritionist
• Regular worship services
• Personal laundry and housekeeping services
• Personal hygienic assistance (bathing & dressing)
• Holistic supervised program of recreational activities
• Companionship with individuals of their own age, ethnic and religious backgrounds

Yesterday, Sunday May 31st, 2026, His Grace Bishop Andonios of Phasiane, Director of St. Michael’s Home, held Holy Pentecost Service for our residents. Since 1958, St. Michaels Home provides our residents with spiritual, emotional, and physical comfort and care in a love Greek Orthodox environment. This weekend, St. Michael’s Home celebrated Mother’s Day and honored our residents who are mothers! With the help of and their delicious Berry Napoleon, the Home threw a wonderful tea party for all our residents! Thank you to all who help made this special weekend even more special for our residents! The Home is blessed with supportive friends that help us accomplish our mission of providing quality care to our elderly!

The Home continues its sacred mission to provide the elderly with a home-away-from-home where they can live out their golden years with love, dignity, and quality care in a Greek Orthodox environment. St. Michael’s Home had a fun filled weekend for our residents! On Saturday, April 18th, the Holy Cross of Whitestone GOYA put on a performance of traditional Greek Folk Dances and played bingo with residents. Thank you to the Goyans for spending quality time with our residents!

On Sunday, April 19th, the St. Spyridon’s Ahepa chapter and Philoptochos visited the Home and spent time with our residents. The day was filled with music and dance, and our residents enjoyed themselves immensely. Thank you to our volunteers, George and Alex Patsalos for organizing the event!

Χριστός Ανέστη from all of us at St. Michael’s Home! His Grace Bishop Andonios held Anastasi services on Sunday morning for our residents. The kitchen staff prepared dyed eggs, magiritsa, and lambs on the spit! Our residents enjoyed this incredible meal and enjoyed such a beautiful day! Holy Thursday and Great Friday at St. Michael’s Home ✝️

As Holy Week continues,
the Greek Orthodox faith invites us to pause, reflect, and walk alongside Christ through His Passion, sacrifice, and ultimate expression of love. From the solemn beauty of the Twelve Gospels on Holy Thursday to the reverent procession of the Epitafio on Great Friday, each moment carries deep meaning and tradition.

We were especially blessed to share these services with our Director, Bishop Andonios, and to witness the love and devotion of our residents, who helped lovingly decorate the Epitafio with such care and reverence 🌸

In these quiet, powerful moments of prayer, remembrance, and community, we are reminded of the enduring strength of faith, hope, and renewal.
