Welcome Michael Sharp ⭐️
Who is he? What does he teach? And what does he embody?
Words from Michael himself:
I once read something that compares the practices of yoga to cleaning a window that is dirty; marked by the passage of time (the window being us, our perception). That with the daily effort and repeated attention to cleaning, a change becomes apparent, bringing light and clarity, made consistent, though changing, over time.
I 'fell' into yoga as a remedial practice to offset working physically as a carpenter; I was reluctant.. at first. While the physical benefits were undeniable, it was the more subtle benefit, slowly revealed, that caught me, and keeps me practicing now, some 20 plus years later.
I've a Cert iv in yoga teaching (yep, it's a thing), about 1000+hr of formal training, many thousands of hours of teaching experience, in many different teaching environments, in a range of 'styles' to all student levels. And for a number of years I worked as a teacher trainer, both in Australia and internationally.
I'm now teaching around my most important, and favourite job ever, as Dad to two amazing children, who bring a new level of understanding to the real value of the yoga practices: that while it prepares and helps us better understand and connect with the Self, it is so we can better relate to and care for others, in relationship and community.
You can join Michael on the mat every MONDAY 12PM - 1PM YIN YOGA and soon to be every WEDNESDAY 9.30AM - 10.30AM YANG+YIN when the lovely Madi goes on Maternity Leave.
Michael is such a genuine, beautiful man and we are so stoked to have him teaching again at Twine after so many years. Blessed with the best. x
