North Eastern Community Hospital North Eastern Community Hospital is a not-for-profit, community owned, private hospital and nursing home facility.

Our modern 60 bed hospital includes an 8 Bed Day Surgery Unit and Private Room accommodation,
2 Operating Theatres and a Gastroenterology Procedure Room. We offer services in General Surgery, Medical, Obstetrics, Orthopaedics, Laparoscopic Surgery, Gynaecology, Gastroenterology, Dental
and Residential Aged Care. Our Residential Aged Care Facility has 84 licensed beds. The aim of the nursing home

is to provide an environment in which residents receive contemporary, quality care in both the medical and nursing fields within the resources available. The North Eastern Community Hospital complex is community owned and focused on providing quality clinical services to the local community.

Today, on Aged Care Employee Day, we celebrate the incredible people who make a difference in the lives of older people every day.
To everyone across NECH who provides care, support, connection and kindness — thank you. Your compassion, dedication and commitment help older people feel valued, respected and supported to live well.
We’re proud to recognise the many roles that contribute to aged care and the people behind them. Today is an opportunity to acknowledge the difference you make, not just today, but every day.

Today, our team swapped their uniforms for their favourite pyjamas to celebrate National Pyjama Day and show support for children in foster care.

It was wonderful to see staff across the hospital getting involved, bringing plenty of smiles, colourful PJs and a shared commitment to raising awareness for such an important cause.

A big thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the day a success. Together, we're proud to support initiatives that strengthen our community and make a positive difference in the lives of children and families.

This National Volunteer Week (18–24 May), we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our incredible volunteers.
Your kindness, dedication, compassion, and endless support make such a difference every single day. Our hospital and aged care services simply would not be the same without you, and we are so grateful for everything you do for our patients, residents, visitors, and staff.

While we are sad to see some of our wonderful volunteers leaving us this year, we thank you for the lasting impact you have made and wish you all the very best for the future.

A very special thank you to Cafe Settebello for accommodating our volunteer group each year. Your generosity and support never go unnoticed — you always go above and beyond, and we are truly grateful for this valued partnership.

Today marks World Hand Hygiene Day 👋🏻👋🏻 as the global reminder that by the appropriate use of hand hygiene we save lives.

This years theme is "Action saves lives - Safer care starts with clean hands". Peta, our Infection Control Manager has been taking the charge for awareness, training and auditing our staff and our practices.

But today, she has taken time out to build awareness and have some fun at the same tine. Thank you to our amazing partners, Whiteley for always being there to support our awareness campaigns.

Last week, we proudly came together to honour ANZAC Day, a time of reflection, remembrance, and gratitude for the courage and sacrifice of those who have served our country.

On the eve of ANZAC Day, our residents enjoyed a wonderful afternoon baking traditional ANZAC biscuits. We then shared in a spirited game of Two-Up, bringing a touch of history to life and creating special moments of connection for everyone involved.

Days like this are so meaningful for our residents, many of whom have lived through times that shaped our nation. It is a privilege to listen to their stories, honour their experiences, and ensure the ANZAC spirit continues to live on within our nursing home.

Today we celebrate our Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD). Our CSSD teams are critical for our hospital and responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and distributing medical devices and surgical instruments. Our valuable teams ensures equipment is safe for reuse across operating theatres and procedure suites.

It is certainly a big day for our team as we also received our new Dragon Low Temperature Steriliser!
