Since 1 October, there’s $0 contribution for personal care on Support at Home. The Government now covers it in full.

So if you’ve been skipping a shower or going without help to keep costs down, you don’t have to anymore.

All you need is personal care approved in your support plan and Support at Home funds available.

Shayle spent her career helping others: as a mediator, and later volunteering with the Red Cross, and as an ambassador at Mater Hospital.

Three and a half years ago, a brain tumour diagnosis meant she needed more support of her own. What mattered most to her didn't change: her garden, her community, her family, her independence.

"I just cannot imagine being regimented," she says. "Living well at home means everything. Absolute everything."
