Elemental Health and Nutrition

Elemental Health and Nutrition Functional Medicine aims to find the root cause of illness by looking deeper into a persons biochemi When this balance becomes disrupted, illness can occur.

Every aspect of your body, even your DNA, is composed of an abundance of vitamins and minerals, which exist in perfect harmony. Nutritional medicine aims to bring the body back into equilibrium through dietary and lifestyle changes, and focused supplementation. A nutritional consultation involves taking a thorough case history, analyzing your diet, and taking lifestyle factors and day-to-day stres

sors into consideration. This holistic approach helps to get to the true root of your issue, and not simply treat your symptom. The following conditions are among those that can benefit from a nutritional consult.

- Constant stress
- Poor sleep
- Fatigue
- Brain fog
- Anxiety or depression
- Learning difficulties
- High histamine
- Methylation issues
- Poor weight management
- Digestive issues
- Cardiovascular issues

I also have a strong interest in mental health issues, methylation and genetic polymorphisms, which can benefit from targeted functional testing and precise supplementation.

Wired and exhausted at the same time by 3pm.

Starving two hours after lunch.

Shaky, foggy or irritable until you eat.

A coffee and something sweet, just to get through the afternoon.

Calmer the moment food hits, then flat again an hour later.

That's not low willpower. That's your blood sugar crashing.

It's called reactive hypoglycaemia: a glucose spike from a carb-heavy meal, then an insulin overshoot that drops you too low. The answer isn't more discipline. It's protein, fat and fibre first β€” and finding out why your blood sugar swings this hard in the first place.

If your afternoons run on caffeine and sugar, that's worth testing properly.

Your hormone symptoms in your 40s aren't what the internet thinks they are…

πŸ‘‰ Every second perimenopause reel blames one thing: too much oestrogen.

After 13 years of running these panels, that's almost never the real story.

**The myths I unpick in clinic every week:**

**β†’ "It's oestrogen dominance."** Usually it's the opposite. Progesterone drops first. In the months you don't ovulate, you barely make any, and that's the calm, sleep-promoting hormone gone missing.

**β†’ "Your oestrogen is just too high."** It doesn't climb steadily. It swings. High one week, low the next. The instability is what you feel, not the amount.

**β†’ "You're just stressed."** The mood swings, broken sleep, sore joints and short fuse track a real hormonal shift. Not imagined. Not a willpower problem.

The pattern is almost always the same: patchy ovulation β†’ progesterone drop β†’ wild oestrogen swings β†’ the symptoms no one joined up.

If your 40s have started feeling unpredictable in a way no one's properly explained, that's worth a proper look. Happy to help you make sense of it.

One flat white sends some people into an all-day stress response. Others drink coffee at 4pm and sleep fine. That's a gene called CYP1A2. Worth testing.

Low-dose naltrexone is hyped as a quiet miracle for autoimmune. In clinic the picture's more honest. Some patients improve. A lot don't. And the research says the same.
