Bathurst NAIDOC March 2026 – 50 Years of Deadly

Today, headspace Bathurst was privileged to be part of the Bathurst NAIDOC March 2026 – 50 Years of Deadly celebrations.

It was a terrifically organised event and a wonderful opportunity to come together, celebrate culture and strengthen community connection. It was especially fantastic to see so many local primary schools come along and enjoy the day.

The headspace Bathurst stall was kept busy with community members stopping by for a chat, free giveaways, badge making and our fabulous face painting.

A huge thank you to headspace Lithgow for assisting us during the day and to the Bathurst LALC event team and everyone involved in organising such a welcoming and memorable community celebration. We were grateful to be part of it!

National Carers Week | 11-17 October 2026

This week, we recognise and celebrate the invaluable contribution of carers across Australia.

There are approximately 958,500 carers in NSW, meaning more than 1 in 9 NSW residents provide care and support to a family member, friend, or loved one. Collectively, carers provide an incredible 11.8 million hours of care each week across NSW.

Carers come from all walks of life, cultures, and backgrounds. Their dedication, compassion, and commitment make a significant difference in the lives of those they support and within our communities.

To all carers, thank you. We see the important work you do, and we greatly appreciate the care, strength, and kindness you provide every day.

Happy National Carers Week and thank you for all that you do. 💙

National Nutrition Week.

What we eat can influence how we feel, think and connect. This National Nutrition Week, we’re recognising the strong relationship between food, mood, mental health and emotional wellbeing.

Choosing nourishing foods can help support brain function, mood and mental wellbeing - while cooking and sharing meals can create moments of connection, belonging and care.

The HSC is fast approaching, and it's normal for stress levels to start building. So, what can you do to manage it?

1. Practice Paced or Box Breathing

Taking a few minutes to focus on your breathing can help calm your nervous system and reduce feelings of stress and anxiety.

2. Get Moving

Physical activity can help release built-up tension. Take a 5-10 minute break, go for a walk, get some fresh air, stretch your muscles, or do any movement that helps you reset.

3. Prioritise Sleep

Try to maintain a consistent sleep routine. Cut back on caffeine, especially later in the day, and limit screen time before bed to help improve sleep quality.

4. Nourish Your Body

Eating regular, balanced meals and staying hydrated can have a positive impact on your mood, energy levels, and overall wellbeing during stressful periods.

5. Talk to Someone

You don't have to manage stress on your own. Share how you're feeling with a trusted friend, family member, teacher, or support person. Asking for help is a sign of strength.

Remember: you've worked hard to get here. Take it one step at a time, be kind to yourself, and trust in the effort you've put in. You've got this!
