Established in 2018.

With a combined 35 years of training clients, founders Sam, Kyle and Rhys created Functional AF so that so motivated individuals can achieve their health and fitness goals through our 3 Fundamentals being Lifestyle, Nutrition and Training. Everyone who joins the team will be delivered a professional level of service and become part of a strong and powerful community dedicated to having all achieve their goals. Almost 15KG down!!💥

And no… she didn’t live in the gym to get there.

Tineale works as an underground miner with long, demanding shifts and a schedule that doesn’t leave a lot of extra time.

So instead of extremes, we focused on what was realistic and sustainable 👇

🏋️‍♀️ 3 workouts per week
🍽️ Started with just a 15% calorie deficit
⚖️ Now maintaining on 1750 calories
📉 14.7kg lost
📏 77.5cm down

No crash diets.
No training every day.
No cutting out everything she enjoys.
Just consistency, structure, and habits that fit her life.

The best part? She’s built a routine she can actually maintain while working one of the toughest jobs out there 💪

We take this moment to honour all the brave men and women who fought for our country. We also want to recognise two of our coaches .bov86 & .af for the time they served and continue to serve in the Australian Army!

SHOUTOUT TO A COUPLE OF OUR SUPER-DADS 🦸‍♂️🦸‍♂️

Brendon: 20kg down, sleeping better, moving more (40,000 steps a week 👀), reducing reliance on meds and closing in on a 30kg goal.

Mark: 9kg down, 70+ cm off his body, went from struggling through workouts to running 12km and smashing a 30 min 5K.

When Deb told us she wanted to “focus on eating better and lose a few kilos.”

She meant it. 💪

In just 5 months, she’s dropped over 30cm — and it shows not just in the transformation photo, but in her consistency, resilience and mindset.

Was it perfect? Not at all.

There were long days from her full-time job.
There were missed sessions.
There were moments she felt completely exhausted.

But here’s what Deb did right:

➡️ She didn’t quit
➡️ She kept showing up (even imperfectly)
➡️ She trusted the process
