Our exercise physiologist Sophie explains that weight‑loss medications can reduce appetite, but they can also reduce the stimulus your body needs to maintain lean muscle. When muscle drops, strength, bone density and metabolic health can drop with it. Targeted strength training helps preserve the structures that keep you well.

Incidental exercise is the movement you rack up just living your day — walking, lifting, cleaning, chasing kids, doing the jobs. It keeps you active, but it doesn’t target anything.

Clinical exercise is intentional, structured, and repeatable. It’s designed to change strength, mobility, pain, or performance. It’s the difference between “moving” and actually improving.

Everyday movement keeps you going.
Clinical exercise gets you better.

Many people tell us they’re already “doing plenty of exercise” because they walk around all day, lift things at work, or stay busy at home.

Here’s the simple truth:
Incidental = everyday movement.
It keeps you active, but it’s not designed to fix pain, build strength, or improve how your body moves.

exercise = targeted, structured rehab.
It’s done with specific technique, intensity, and frequency to create real change in whatever’s causing your pain or injury.

Everyday is great — but it usually isn’t enough to improve an .

Chronic injuries aren’t the same as acute (new) injuries.
Acute injuries often need rest.
Chronic injuries? Rest usually does nothing — because the real issue is biomechanics and load management.

I just ran a marathon with a full labral tear.
Not because rest healed it…
but because better movement and smarter loading did.

If it’s chronic, stop resting it into oblivion.
Teach it to move better.
Load it better.

If physios were builders… we’d spend half our day explaining that the house won’t fix itself. We can diagnose the problem, design the plan, and guide every step but the real progress happens when you show up and do the work.

We bring the blueprint.

You bring the effort.

Together, we rebuild something stronger than before.
