A year ago, I was standing in front of the mirror wondering what on earth was happening to my skin.

Today, I’m sharing these photos because I have a feeling some of you might be standing in front of that same mirror right now.

These images were taken 12 months apart and they’re actually photos of me — Erin, one of the Dermal Therapists here at Skin. 🤍

As skin professionals, people often assume we have perfect skin and somehow know all the answers. The truth? We’re human too.

A period of significant stress triggered breakouts and acne that I’d never really experienced before. While it may not have seemed severe to others, it absolutely affected my confidence.

Like many of our clients, I found myself asking:

Why is this happening?
What am I doing wrong?
What should I be trying next?

In a world overflowing with skincare advice, miracle products and overnight transformations, it can feel overwhelming trying to know what to trust.

So instead of chasing trends, I went back to the fundamentals. Evidence-based skincare. Consistent treatments. Patience.

There was peeling.
There was purging.
There were moments I questioned whether things were getting better at all.

But healthy skin isn’t built in a week. It’s built through small actions repeated consistently over time.

These results weren’t achieved through a single treatment or product. They were built over 12 months of persistence, strategy and intention.

And if there’s one thing I’d love you to take away from this post, it’s this:
