For some people the desire to please others is disabling and chronic. It’s really hard to learn to set boundaries easily. It takes time, it takes practice, and sometimes it takes a little bit of gentle easing in. A good start is not to put yourself under pressure to say no, but simply give yourself enough time to work out what the best answer is for you. Learn to say “let me get back to you.” This gives you time to assess your thinking and work through any challenges that you might be facing in terms of setting boundaries or meeting your needs in a healthy way. 💕
