Let's do a Q&A! These are the ones that come up most often π
ποΈ When should I start taking a prenatal?
Ideally 3 months before you start trying. Key nutrients like folate, choline, and DHA need time to build up.
ποΈ Do I really need DHA separately?
If your prenatal doesn't include it at a meaningful dose... and most don't... then yes. The molecule is too large to include properly in a standard multivitamin.
ποΈ My prenatal makes me nauseous. Help!
Take it with food, and check the iron dose on the label. High iron is the most common reason. Might be time to switch to a gentler formula.
ποΈ Can I keep taking my prenatal while breastfeeding?
Yes, and please do! Nutritional demands stay really high during breastfeeding, especially for DHA.
ποΈ Is a more expensive prenatal always better?
Nope. Price isn't the measure... the formula is. Check what's actually in it and whether it reflects current research.
