Australia is considering changes to how crypto-asset transactions are reported for tax transparency.

Treasury's draft legislation would introduce the OECD Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework into Australian law, establish domestic reporting requirements for transactions involving Australian residents and update existing international tax reporting rules.

The consultation closes 28 October 2026.
