Grief doesn’t only affect adults.

When families visit us, children are often part of the conversation too.

While parents and grandparents discuss arrangements, children can spend time exploring the gardens, meeting Lucy the Moodle, Winston and Bastion, and now our newest pygmy goat, Brambles.

A funeral home doesn’t have to feel frightening. Sometimes a wagging tail, a curious goat and a walk in nature can make all the difference.

That’s part of how we care for families. Every generation, every story, every life.

A beautiful crisp morning at Wooling Hill as we prepare for today’s memorial service in our Trilogy Chapel, followed by guests meandering through the gardens for the planting of a Teddy Bear Magnolia 🌿

A living tribute, planted with love, where memories will continue to grow for generations to come.

Every life has a story to tell.

This Anzac Day, we share a story from a letter my grandfather Arthur sent home to his parents. His words, his memories, carried forward by Troy and the Chapter House family.

Lest we forget.

As funeral directors, we spent the week with Wooling Hill at the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show and shared in many thoughtful conversations.
It reinforced just how important it is to have even a simple discussion about your wishes.

As the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show comes to a close, we’ve taken a moment to reflect on the past few days.

The conversations have been genuine, honest, and often thought-provoking.

So many people connected with the idea of creating a place where memories live and grow.

And just as many paused. Not because they didn’t understand… but because it made things feel real.

As funeral directors, we see this every day. We sit with families at the very beginning, when decisions need to be made and emotions are raw. And when those conversations haven’t been had, that weight is carried by the people left behind.

A place matters.

At Wooling Hill, through Chapter House, we walk that entire journey with families… from the first call, to a place to return to.

🌿 RememberMe Trees
More than an idea… a place that will always be there.

Thank you to everyone who stopped, spoke with us, and shared their thoughts.

Sunday set-up at Chapter House Funerals Wooling Hill Memorial Estate.

Even on Sundays, the work continues. From carefully preparing bespoke spaces to taking in the views across the Macedon Ranges, every detail matters.

With 40 acres to work within, we can create meaningful gathering spaces almost anywhere on the estate. No two services are ever the same and no other funeral venue offers this sense of openness, flexibility, and connection to place.

And yes, even Lucy our caring Moodle puts in the hours on Sundays.
