Happy Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈

Today marks the beginning of Pride Month, and we kicked things off with a colourful Snack N Chat for our staff.

Throughout the session, staff were invited to answer Pride-themed questions, learn more about the LGBTIQA+ community, and enjoy a cupcake along the way. 🍰

At Burnside Hospital, Pride Month is an opportunity to celebrate diversity, promote inclusion, and reaffirm our commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for everyone. We recognise that every person deserves to feel seen, valued, and supported when accessing healthcare and in the workplace.

Here's to a month of learning, celebrating, and continuing to foster a culture where everyone belongs. 💙

Everyone is welcome at Burnside.

National Reconciliation Week is off to a great start at Burnside Hospital ❤️💛🖤

Yesterday, we began the week by coming together bright and early at Toorak Gardens to virtually attend the National Reconciliation Week Breakfast hosted by Reconciliation SA. It was a meaningful and insightful start to the week, and we really enjoyed sharing the experience (and breakfast!) together as a team.

We then continued the celebrations at Toorak Gardens with our staff BBQ, where teams came together to share food, conversation and try some native-inspired flavours as part of recognising NRW. A great way to connect and reflect together.

A big thank you to the team who helped bring it all together 👏

Next stop: Stepney’s BBQ next week 👀

THROWBACK THURSDAY

In honour of National Volunteers Week, we’re throwing it back to 2017 when we launched our redeveloped Day Surgery Unit!

To help us test the new space, some of our wonderful volunteers stepped into the role of patients—and as always, they did it with heart and humour.

From lending a helping hand to offering comfort and care, our volunteers are an essential part of the Burnside family. Their generosity, time, and kindness help our hospital run smoothly every single day.

We’re so lucky to have them—and this week, we celebrate them!
